Did you ever see any info suggesting that we're aiming to make our mod "true to BMS" or "100% accurate to BMS"?
I don't think so, since that would be untrue.
BMS mod is just an inspiration to us, we don't feel obligated to make anything in our mod consistent with it.
i recall gearbox already had some explaination, as in his team had different orders or something. in blue shift two soldiers say that they have to dump bodies cos "shephard's team didn't make it"
but i wouldn't mind few encounters where guards start shooting at you at sight cos they saw hecu in action earlier.
maybe a semi-scripted event where wounded guard sits by a wall and starts shooting at you. if you don't kill him he eventually runs out of ammo and you can "persuade him" via use button that you're not a threat.
i don't think so, especially considering that op4 already has an an upgraded zombie, gonome.
oh yes, we will take our time.
After all our kind zionist benefactors payed us well not to release it to soon :3
well, i'm pretty sure lots of them are tired from spending so much time on BM and aren't too fond of idea of working on the same kind of project anytime soon.
But like Obama wrote they are welcomed to apply to us, just like all the other talented modders out there.
Battle Angel Alita (original name is Gunnm)
i'm sorry, but my metamorphosis went too far to stop it now.
there's office complex growing out of my arm and my guts started resembling test chambers. i also seem to have developed miniature scientists, walking around wearing their glasses and tiny ridiculous ties.
they may have named a game like that.
but if you think that this is what we're referring to then it must be ages since you last played blue shift.
you forgot about the sexy concepts. i'm disappoint.
yep, i always felt that HD version is just much less creepy. i did use pants color from it though.
you think they are creepy? you haven't even seen their attack animation yet.
Very well... those votes, you guys won't regret 'em.
i heard it's pretty good. might check it out.
in case anyone missed it, this update contains lot more pics than those in the article. you'll find them in the gallery.
original model is blocky, has a low res stretched texture and really exaggerated proportions, labcoat glued to the body, 4 fingers, skull overlay etc. so no, i wouldn't say that this looks the same.
especially proportions are different. in fact i'd say that on this concept i strayed too much towards the "average human" proportions, while some exaggeration should be retained for a more menacing look.
also, this is not the only zombie concept i made. others are slightly more experimental.
there is a high chance that we will have a custom headcrab model, though it's far from being a top priority right now.
I do like HL1 alien designs more than HL2 ones so i'm definitely a supporter of Remake the Crab movement.
wrong group dude. can't you see the big "Karma Troll Victims Club" banner on top?
One thing's for sure - you'll be the first ones to die when she farts.
geez, you people are STILL talking about karma trolls. who cares if there's a tiny "0" or a tiny "+1" next to your comment?
-you can let us know if you find any talented free artist
-you can start learning some modding skill and -become- useful
-and if you ever encounter someone claiming that we're dead, we'll be grateful if you correct him.
when you write "watch it", it would be good to write why it's worth it.
how did you manage to have it right in front of your eyes and yet still misspell it?
FPSNation, you were whining and proclaimed us dead so no wonder that people disliked that.
An update will come, but some things need to be finalized first.
then just say what you're looking for. i have plenty of titles to recommend but i certainly can't be bothered to write ALL of them.
oh come on. how many games did main FO series have? Two. that's not enough for a franchise to "get repetive" because of sticking to the original gameplay formula.
I'm sure that fans would complain if FO3 was made on same engine with same resolution and same sprites as fo2.
But fans WEREN'T getting sick of isometric view and the unique atmosphere that Beth replaced with their own stuff.
In fact Fallout 3: Van Buren also had a new 3D engine and gameplay changes.
yet it felt much more of a sequel to FO2 than bethesda's version of FO3 ever did.
well, now i know that i -will- watch it.
officially? no. but as you can see some small mods can be made without it.
^ which doesn't change the fact that the guard looks like a midget.
are you telling people not to trust their eyes just because it was made by a pro modeler?
sure, warhammer characters use slightly cartoony proportions but in this case you simply went too far.
canaan is ok if you're looking just for some action. the plot is generic and forgettable though.
seems like another promising DX mod, good luck.
cheesy indeed, but i guess for some bands the 80's have simply never ended.
Call me a pesimist, but i think it's a shallow fascination rather than anything mature.
It happened few times in history already, for example in late XIX century lots of europian artists were fascinated by japanese art. but they mostly just copied artistic means, without trying to understand the culture or whatever.
What i see now is the same: people getting kewl tattoos with kanji, using japanese honorifics, drawing in what they call "manga style" and declaring their creepy love for anything japanese.
And in Japan it's the same. people there buy t-shirts with english text just because it makes them look cool even if text doesn't make any sense. Lots of girls tan their skin and use various tricks to look more western. they put english words into songs sung in japanese to make them sound cooler.
Of course it all does help the process of integration to some extent but imo japan is still heavily alienated from the rest of the world.
well you see, people say that because it's the truth.
also, the amount of naruto fangirlism on that DA page is quite disturbing D:
thanks, i tried hard to make it tunnellier than most tunnels.
since when is star wars a cartoon?
also, what's the point in telling the same story everyone knows already, with main difference being usage of stereotypical "manga faces"...
Shonen Jump decided to milk bleach some more, so they told Kubo to write new arcs. they pay him so it's not like he would be against that...
hmm, looks interesting. even despite the fact that she seems
to be lacking a certain organ o_O
tell me more about this touhou game.
i've always thought there's something disturbing about Robin.
now i know what.
look at the size of her pupils, she's tripping like hell :>
fairly nice lineart.
you do realize that manga has always been under influence of europian and american comics?
best tip would be, study anatomy and draw real faces.
Why? because that's what most manga artists do. even ones that later choose to draw in a stylized way like you do.
Knowledge of perspective and anatomy is the precise reason why their stylized drawings look good while amateur fanarts don't.
It's a good thing that you didn't draw the head 100% frontally. this way it's easier for you to get accustomed that head is a dimensional form and not a flat plane. try drawing heads at various angles.
my thoughts exactly.
i'd do the same if i encountered this monstrosity.
well then, in that case i suggest making it look more bizarre.
i don't think making the top part (with moon) white was a good idea. i guess it's done on purpose, but it looks plain bizarre.
Actually, 124 pages of Kurozuka are solely dedicated to tentacle rape, there's also 3 bonus chapters with loli action, there's orgy of **** girls in volume 5 and plenty incest everywhere!!! silly me, how could i forget about that. o_o
well not really, but it has 1 or 2 sex scenes if that'll make you happy.
who are the folks in the red/dark blue panel above Ed? can't say that i remember them.
i have a book named Fruits, it's a photo collection of street fashion in tokyo. It's quite mindblowing.
Even though those photos are like 15 years old, an outfit like this one here isn't all that eccentric compared to some people from that book.
i thought i wrote a description? it's a manga, dude.
good usage of light, but please set spacing of your brush to a lower value ;)
Nice, i really like the design.
his work is awesome precisely -because- it's freaky.
one of my all time favourites.
if you like it, also check out Haibane Renmei, Texhnolyze, Ghost Hound.
these 3 came from creators of Lain, and they have a similar vibe to them. in case of Haibane it's more peaceful, Texhnolyze is more depressing and Ghost Hound is more psychological; but they all are awesome in their own way.
don't spoil, mmkay.
it was indeed too short, i think Nihei wanted to make a longer Blame sequel but he has lost the interest after some time.
you asked before if anyone knows something like Nihei's works.
i can't think of anything really similiar, but if you want something gritty, grotesque and fked up, try Dorohedoro.
it's one of my absolute favorites.
He's not confused. you can tell from his face that he's thinking this sort of thoughts:
"but what -is- the real meaning of Life? Could our only raison d'etre be just to spread our genes, to be mere vessels? ...A depressing prospect, but as much as i'd like to think that there is some grand plan for humanity, such thoughts seem like a result of our usual megalomania. Still, some philosophers claim tha... claim that...
...Actually, i'm kinda hungry. what was i thinking about again?"
Thanks, and good to have you back.
i haven't really worked on The Wastes stuff during your absence, back then i wasn't even shure if the project is alive at all, with its leader gone.
Thanks, and you shouldn't be bothered by that previous concept.
Both GD Team and our fanbase weren't satisfied by the way it looked, and the guy who made it has left the team a year ago anyway.
The result of that is a new series of zombie concepts made by me, one of which you see here.
"Anti-Mass Spectrometry for Dummies"
unfortunately, everyone thought it would be too embarassing to get caught reading it.
that's some really cool design you got there.
yeah, but it got quickly pushed away by a Fairy Tail flood so you can't really blame (zomg i made pun) Supachikin.
and in case someone missed it, here's more pics:
And this is from another manga of the same author, Biomega:
Here's some pics:

YES! it's been a damn long time since anyone posted something as good as this in this gallery.
Blame's art is absolutely amazing, especially the monumental sci fi architecture and Silicon Creatures' designs.
The story is also interesting; though it should be noted that it is told mostly through pictures, there aren't many dialougues or explainations.
There is lot of action, but there's also plenty of wandering through the giant structures. which could be boring, if not for the fact that environment is incredibly well drawn, and occasional slow pace creates some nice atmosphere.
'final' form my ***. i bet we'll see at least 10 more "ultimate super final forms" before this manga ends.
i have no idea what is this, but i do like the stylized hi-contrast art.
yeah, i see that you're familiar with a game industry theory which claims that the more bloom you use, the more realistic your environment looks.
wrong. it's yukata.
for shock value.
AF is a group made for fans of anime, not fans of moe.
this banner seems to suggest otherwise. >_>
That's some nice sculpt you got there. i like those oversized legs.
well, our newer concepts shurely don't have any bubbles on them.
basically i'm trying to make them look closer to the original (non HD) hl1 zombie, since for me it was the most creepy zombie version in the whole franchise.
what can i say?
study the anatomy. hitsugay or not, his hands are totally out of proportion.
it's a shame it died, weapon renders look amazing.
^ you'll burn for this arrogance.
and wipe your effing mouth, you got brow stains all over it.
stories that contain an Evil Organisation (tm) are a fail by definiton anyway.
morally questionable organisations - shure. but "mwahaha world dominayshun" organisations, that's just too childish to bear.
Apocolypse? is this like, some cheap copy of Apocalypse, made in China?
like all those Adidos shoes and stuff.
Texhnolyze is a decent anime, i'm surprised it has never gotten more popular.
only thing that annoyed me is the protagonist, for most of time his behaviour is utterly listless. he lets other people decide for him.
no, End of Evangelion is an alternative ending of the series.
many people dislike it since it's highly obscure, full of bizarre **** and has few disgusting moments, but personally i totally adore it.
the plot is hard to follow and most scenes can be interpreted in many different ways, but i still recommend EoE to everyone, at least for the impressive visuals if for nothing else.
isn't death & rebirth just a compressed nge series with a tiny amount of new content?
...pretty cool guy, eh kills contractors and doesn't afraid of anything
you mean the series or End of Evangelion? :D
i knew there's something reaaaly familiar about your avatar.
damn, this game owns.
d2 diablo was just too bright, and too red. especially on the wallpapers and other promo art.
Isyscompany.files.wordpress.com seriously, looks like some freaking cartoon.
on the other hand, D1 version was perfect to me.
but why the hell does this one have a Quake logo on the forehead? :D
^ yeah, except not really.
looks damn good :D
you do know what p-l-a-c-e-h-o-l-d-e-r means, right?
oh i guess you don't.
And having a fallouty atmosphere is certainly not a bad thing, considering that the latest game of this franchise seriously lacks it.
A deadly RGB gun :D?
quite good, i like it. there's little bit too much smooth on the bottom and top of the ammo clip, but overall looks like a fallout gun all right.
That's definitely better than my first 3d models, from years ago.
nice, but with a burning sun like this there should be some kind of highlight on their armors.
It's a pleasure to finally see Giger's creature in a modern game, looking close to the original.
Oh my god.
The toilet paper... is gone!! o_O
lol, people see constant Wastes' updates, and when they click, all they see are these 2 pics again and again. I'm not shure if we can trick them like this much longer ;]
But it's good that you've deleted the early WIP pics. I can't stand looking at early Malik now.
And thanks to someone who wrote yesterday that he liked one of these portraits, before comment got lost.
hmm, it looks terribly compressed.
Awesome, a pretty complex form. I'd like to see some color on it though, since all parts kind of melt together.
Is it from '80? It was pretty much the Era of Cheesy Covers.
Yeah, Seven Days War sounds like a war fought with croissants.
ok, that's cool. After reading your old comment of some pic here i just assumed that all enemies will have lights.
This map looks pretty good.
i suggest clicking "view original", since this preview is blurry.
Character as a light source is great and true to diablo.
But I dont think it's a good idea to give lights to all the enemies as well. It kind of kills the atmosphere. Remember all these creepy monsters literally emerging from the darkness in Diablo? it made them much more scary. It's not cool when you always know exactly how many and what types of enemies are in the room.
interesting. how does this emboss bump work? does it react to light in the way the normal map does?
Not bad. at least not as awfully green as DIII dungeons.
i like the traffic signs idea. It's funny and fits Fallout well.
Is that a deathclaw's skull?
Looks kinda like made of sand, but other then that, really cool.
crap, i thought ModDB would resize it.
do i see a normal map on the wall? ciekawe.
Warcraft 2. Loved that game.
That bag, I C WAT U DID THAR.
It's kind of illegal, i think.
pulse laser bullet cases?
