Greetings Guard Duty fans! Once again, we are here with a new update. There have been some rumors spreading around that we are dead, but I can assure you that we are very much alive and are working hard on the mod to get you these updates. Work is happening slowly but surely, and we are preparing for what will probably be the most challenging part of the game to develop... xen! We think our view on xen is going to be really interesting and fun and we can't wait to go nuts on it!
A lot of our focus lately has been on the gameplay itself. We are pushing towards the very first playable build of the game. Whilst we already have a few NPCs and gameplay features ready, we still need to expand our team a bit to succeed.
We do have several new faces on the team and we are happy that our team is growing. Even with all the new people on board, we still need to secure some more developers. We would love to expand mainly our 3D art department. Are you an experienced prop modeler, organic modeler or weapon modeler? Then you can be a very valuable part of our team! Still, we are willing to fill other positions like model animators and riggers, and are also looking for a dedicated coder.
Everyone is welcome, as long as you have talent and you are a fine person to work with, so don’t hesitate to apply!
You may have noticed in our last update that we said this media release would contain a short trailer to showcase a few of our maps. We have decided to post-pone the trailer for a little while.
The main reasoning for this is that the maps we want to showcase are still in a state of constant evolution. So if we were to release a trailer for them now, it would become largely outdated in as little as a week.
Another reason is that we simply don't have a lot of time for it right now. Most of us work in more than one department, and we don't have anyone dedicated to just producing media; so the trailer is being put together while working on other tasks as well.
