The problem I had with the garrison scripts was that they overdid their purpose: Powerful units too early on in the game and no cooldown on the trigger having the result that some cities were almost impossible to attack

@arjun14 Did you follow the instructions in the video?
crashes on battle start (end of loading screen) often come from "descr_geography" and "descr_geography_new" in the data folder of the mod. If that happens to you, you can delete those files
Another way to make it work with steam is:
-install it normally like recommended for non-steam version
-make a copy of your medieval2.exe and rename it into kingdoms.exe
-use the Third Age.bat to start the game
(This worked for me)
I found this Petition which could greatly help M2TW modding as it requests a patch to remove/change hardcoded limits in M2TW.

No, I think he earned all that money by doing quests
If youre windows7 you can also try 1.05 and winvista/xp compatibility mode. It worked for me
ok it wasnt. But i knew its something ive already heard: Its "Two Steps From Hell - Black Blade" for those who want to know.
Medieval II Soundtrack :-)
I like
I think it shouldnt because TATW is installed to another folder than SS so reinstalling SS shouldnt have any effect on Third Age.
just details..., dont destroy the pleasure we have about that
you can change unit size and skills in "export_descr_unit" file in "M2TW/mods/Third age/data/export_descr_unit" but make a backup of the file before changing things and first look up what things you have to change before doing it.
And to change the fact with the buildings, you have to search the right script and unactivate it. Try out in "export_descr_buildings" but i wont do it because it could wreck up the in-game fun and if you do wrong there might be crashes.
maybe UAC or something like that is the problem. To fix UAC problems just right-click on your "SEGA" folder or wherever u got your M2TW, then select "properties" then go to the "security" tab and give all users full access so kingdoms can work without problems with windows.
then, reinstall just for sure.
If this doesnt work, wait for another answer
for me it was another path: I bought Medieval then it became boring and then i was searching for things to make it more interesting and i found first SS then this and both were great and added nearly all that was missing in Medieval and the rest will (hopefully) be done in 3.0
Have you set both difficulties on very hard. Because i think this is necessary
With gondor its really hard to get enough regions to earn enough money because u already have 2 enemies constantly attacking you an you cant expand your lands to somewhere else but maybe try to make a caesefire with harad so you can knock out Mordor, wich is difficult enough
maybe its the HP software which should prevent computer from overheating and so on. I may change some settings.
ok, then its because my quad core has only 2 Ghz...
What kinda Pc do you have so you can play with those huge counts? My Medieval crashes by 12k units....
yes theyre planned for coming out this year (hopefully).
late Answer...
I have read that you can only open . dat files with the program they belong to
Yes, the music is somehow packed inside the Music.dat file and i found no media player or file extractor who was able to read it. Is there any possibility?
