its not just that, often a crowd throwing stuff can be a cover for some one with something that can damage the tank like a molotov.
and since the reception the crew would get if they were forced out is to say the lest is not pretty, its understandable there reaction

i never saw an idf soldier run into a palestinian hotel fire with full auto killing about 10 people and then explode by using his c4 vest,and in a sacred holiday???no that didnt happen right not for the pals,and thats ok to just shoot people and blow up???? aint that terrorism???

funny thing cause im form israel,and i never saw o0r heard in the media anything like this ,by telling this you obviously dont know alot about the idf,fact is alot of people think they know alot but actually dont know nothing about our conflict with the pal's,and by the way a restaurant blowing up 5 meters from your home by a suicide bomber,or having rockets falling on your home daily those things are unpleasant,and these are some of the things they never experience.
