Apologies for the absence of Coding Dev Journals in last three weeks. Our daily life is dominated by various tests.

Yeah, the sneak peek will come out in less than two weeks. We’ve been really busy with all kinds of tests for more than a month. Also, we nearly overhauled the whole GUI of the game, it’s totally different from what we displayed before. Again, it looks impressive for a browser game.

Everything is going fairly well although we are as busy as that insect thing … yea … recently. The current version is considerably stable now and looks really cool. Judging from the tests we are doing (the screenshot below), we do believe that the server is able to permit more than 500 players to test-play City of Steam concurrently in one area. Hah, we are pretty proud of that.

What really has to be understood is that we’ve spent all of our time recently RE-WRITING the server side so it might look similar but behind the scenes countless hours of work have been done.

Before the test starts, we still have lots of stuff to do, load testing, quest system testing, combat system debugging, NPC shop system renewal, etc. But the sure thing is, improvement and optimization for City of Steam never ceases. Thanks for your support and stay tuned to further development in upcoming dev journals.

Crunch Time!
