For all the old skool modders that have stuck by Mod DB from v1 to v4. A lot has changed as over the years as the site moved from a dark v1 to a bright and rounded v2, to the classic v3 and now the all mighty v4! To join this group you must have joined the Mod DB in 2002 or be a KNOWN long time hardcore user!
It was towards the end of ChaosRealms reign of terror that ModRealm was created. While ModRealm survived, this site really flourished and was undeniably my most popular site as it popped up when few sites existed dedicated to modifications, which were quickly becoming astronomically popular. The first incarnation of ModRealm was using ChaosRealm v2.0 design rebadged. Few will remember that, what it was best known for is the design done by howling which has got to be one of the phatest and most functional designs I have had the honor of working with. Before Playnets (ModRealms) host demise on the internet, this site applied traditional and tried website tactics with a modification twist which really, really worked. Apart from sites such as, Total-Reload, Converted2, ModNation etc... as I mentioned previously mods was a really unexplored nook on the internet with great potential. Thus ModRealms popularity sky-rocketed as constant mod-only news, reviews, interviews and exclusives were dished up to visitors on a regular basis. This continued until December 12th when Playnet dished up the ultimatum that on the 19th of December (7 days) ModRealm and all hosted sites would be removed. Having well over 30 hosted sites, thousands of news posts and features I thought I would hang up my boots and give it all away, as I had achieved what I wanted and created a site which many loved. However I could deny myself website making and believe me, this was no where near the end of the Realm nor me on the internet....
