Yes, Yugoslavia. If Yugoslav People's Army have had regain the full control over it's territory, Yugoslavia would've exist even today- Yugoslav army, until it's disbandment, have had members from whole Balkan, even some of Slovenians served it after the separation of Slovenia, and even Albanians, who were never a part of Yugoslavia. That's my opinion...
After Slovenia and Croatia declared independence, Yugoslavia was not the same state. Yugoslav People's Army consisted of all nationalities from ex-state, it was an obligation to serve it, not a choice. Most Croats, Slovenians, Macedonians and Albanians deserted YPA (JNA) in early 90's, because they didn't want to fight against their own people.
It is a well known fact that even Serbs (mostly from central Serbia - Belgrade) also deserted because they didn't see a point in fighting for some crazy Serb nationalist (Milošević, Šešelj...).
The name YPA, by the end of the war, only served as a mascot for world medias so that Milošević would show how they fight only for "Yugoslavia" and not some "Greater Serbia", which was all a lie because Slovenia and Croatia were already independent (they had a right to declare independence from the 1974. constitution).
And every country had a right to get a part of a yugoslavian weaponry (tanks, weapons, aircraft, land vehicles as cars and trucks, etc.), which "Yugoslavs" (at least 95% Serbs) stolen before war. Or if you want easier version: every country had its own Territory Defense (1974. constitution) which had a right to keep a part of weaponry in case of declaring indepedence. Serbs, behind camouflage of Yugoslavia, clearly didn't respected that constitution at all so they invaded us with stories about saving Yugoslavia, which wasn't truth. Everyone saw just serbian flags and simbols invading us. So please mr. Yugoslavia-lovers (I don't mean only you, mr. Guest) learn something in future and then start to spread fake stories, childish and ridicilous imaginations of modern Yugoslavia and similar bullshits.

@Guest you should do your research before you post your opinion based on a "cold war era" propaganda movie such as "Sutjeska". That movie was made in 1973. and the constitution that I am talking about was made in 1974., after the movie.
Also, you should note that Croatia and Slovenia aren't considered to be the part of balkans (they were, but only economically, until they entered the EU).
It was nobody less or more but a Josip Broz Tito himself who wrote that constitution. That guy is talking much, but he knows little.
Yes, yugoslavian constitution from 1974. says that every country had right to declare indepedence. I have no idea where did you read opposite, but its false. (...) In Vukovar you saw YPA bomarding innocent civilians, hospitals, schools, etc. How can you explain that ? What these old mans, women and children did wrong to "mother Yugoslavia" ? Ask yourself. (...) Serbian territory defence on croatian lands ? Sorry, but I must ask you if you are just stupid or you believe every **** you read on the internet ? Territory defence was there to DEFEND territory of its country, not to spread it. (...) About YPA, looks like you cant understand a simple thing that it was made of at least 95% Serbs (other nations deserted to serve and defend its countries) which followed serbian nationalist Milošević's orders. Yes, if YPA won the war it would stay Yugoslavia, but there wont be Croatia and Croats in it anymore - only Greater Serbia and Serbs under yugoslavian country until communism breaks. That was the whole point. Just start to think with your damn head.
"Paramilitary units of Serbia tried to protect its people there" One of biggest crap stories about that war. WTF ? They were protecting Serbs (themselves?) from what ? Croats just wanted indepedent, democracy and normal Croatia. (proof for that is todays Croatia in which everyone's rights are fully respected, and Serbs in Croatia today has more rights than we do in our own country) It was Milošević who said these people that we are going to kill them in camps (which never actually existed) so they joined volunteer brigades because they were scared. It is called propaganda, if you never heard about that. There were also Serbs which saw what Chetniks from North Serbia were doing, together with "Y"PA, so they dediced to join Croatian army and fight them off to protect their families, houses and homeland, not listenting to serbian propaganda.
"Invade ? I don't think you can invade your own country. How Yugoslav forces can invade Yugoslavia?" I asked you if you are stupid or you just believe every **** you read on the internet, but now I must ask you if you are retarded or you just believe every **** you read on the internet. There were no Yugoslavia (on our lands) anymore, we declared indepedence so "Y"PA (SPA) came here to stop it (and they exploited situation to spread serbian territories under yugoslavia, as I already said), but we defended ourselves. SPA (officialy YPA) continued to attack even after Croatia was admitted worldwide, which is proof that they invaded us. Croatian lands was not their, anyway, but these were croatian lands of croatian people which lived there for 1400 years. Serbs (Yugoslavia) had no right to disturb us (even officialy) if we wanted to be indepedent.
(...) About manpower, Serbs (Republika Srpska army) had 120.000 soldiers + YPA ... ONLY in Croatia. They had enought weapons because main Yugoslavian army bases were in Serbia, and they stolen our weapons when they realised that we want to be indepedent. Guess you know much things about Homeland war ? You know just nothing. Have a nice day, too.
