I am glad that Croatia is part of EU, at least for now.
You can never know what future can bringe you, so I don't like to predict how everything will be, but I do hope that both EU and Croatia will benefit from this. EU for faster travelling to the coast of Croatia in Summer, and Croatia for economic development.
And thank you @Amneetje for wishing us welcome.
I agree with Man-at-Arms. I think that EU is more useful for us, than bad. And thank you for warm welcome! :) Our fathers were fighting for Croatia to become part of Europe, not a part of Balkan or Serbia. (I dont want to offend Serbs, but I am just saying how it is)
Yugoslavia, not Serbia...
Yugoslavia was just a camouflage. You really think that Serbia + occupied croatian territories (Virovitica-Sl. Brod) would stay Yugoslavia ? I don't think so.
After Slovenia and Croatia declared independence, Yugoslavia was not the same state. Yugoslav People's Army consisted of all nationalities from ex-state, it was an obligation to serve it, not a choice. Most Croats, Slovenians, Macedonians and Albanians deserted YPA (JNA) in early 90's, because they didn't want to fight against their own people.
It is a well known fact that even Serbs (mostly from central Serbia - Belgrade) also deserted because they didn't see a point in fighting for some crazy Serb nationalist (Milošević, Šešelj...).
The name YPA, by the end of the war, only served as a mascot for world medias so that Milošević would show how they fight only for "Yugoslavia" and not some "Greater Serbia", which was all a lie because Slovenia and Croatia were already independent (they had a right to declare independence from the 1974. constitution).
And every country had a right to get a part of a yugoslavian weaponry (tanks, weapons, aircraft, land vehicles as cars and trucks, etc.), which "Yugoslavs" (at least 95% Serbs) stolen before war. Or if you want easier version: every country had its own Territory Defense (1974. constitution) which had a right to keep a part of weaponry in case of declaring indepedence. Serbs, behind camouflage of Yugoslavia, clearly didn't respected that constitution at all so they invaded us with stories about saving Yugoslavia, which wasn't truth. Everyone saw just serbian flags and simbols invading us. So please mr. Yugoslavia-lovers (I don't mean only you, mr. Guest) learn something in future and then start to spread fake stories, childish and ridicilous imaginations of modern Yugoslavia and similar bullshits.
Without serbs there would be no Croatia lolBro did Croatia even exist before declaring independece i dont think so lol...i love how you forgot Krajina and all that why YU broke because Croatia but your a croat of course you will bring up your version and talk **** about serbs ... half of todays croatia ar enot even suppose to be croatia 750k people killed by ustase 250k went aways to vojvodina or other countries ustase killed serbs because they are serb cetniks killed ustase to protect their own land who were the army of the king.. but anyways you guys are faker then motenegro so gj of being proud to be fake goodbye :*
