As Christians were members of the Grand Army of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I mean do we really care what the locals think? Our job is too spread the gospel and live according to the Word of God through Christ. Not argue with Atheists and waste our time with them. If they don't believe, they don't believe. Leave them be.

But if they show they are open to hearing the gospel then you take the shot. You just have to build a sense to know when someone is ready to hear it. And you'll do fine.

I agree. You can't reason with people who don't want to listen/are bias or who are convinced we're wrong.

But if they show they are open to hearing the gospel then you take the shot. You just have to build a sense to know when someone is ready to hear it. And you'll do fine.

Having a good knowledge of theology and The Bible is also good here. I've encountered and seen many religious people trying to convert people whilst not having answers to important religious and philosophical questions.

Knowing the philosophical arguments for God's existence is also another thing required as Bible verses alone won't convert someone who wants a reason to believe in God.

Many Christians, here, overlook the many arguments for God that have been discussed and updated over the course of thousands of years. There's a lot of apologetic, philosophical and theological outside of The Bible from people like Saint Augustine and Thomas Aquinas (who IMO, spoke more eloquently than Paul and had arguments for God's existence, though of course; Paul's job was never to be a philosopher but some Christians seem to forget that these later philosophers were just as important to the development to Christianity as Paul was).

Exactly. :-)

There are key differences though.

True Christianity in it's purest state is not a religion. It's a relationship with Christ. One that is not mental or theological, but spiritual. Just read Ezekiel 36:26.

God puts his spirit within us (better defined as the Holy Spirit), something no other faith promises. He desires a relationship with us on a day by day basis. Not only that, but through his spirit he causes us to walk within his statutes and do them. Literally changing us from within. As humans were not perfect and we mess up constantly. But because of his spirit we know when we've done wrong almost instantly. And we have a desire to do right in his eyes.

Similar point, remember the story of how God and Jacob wrestled in the Bible, and God crippled him to get a hold of him? Remember how after Jacob submitted to him that God changed his name to Israel? Same applies here. God wrestles with you and breaks you. Then he takes you in and remakes you to what he wants you to be.

You no longer desire your own will but you desire God's. It's a transformation in spirit. Something atheists have never experienced because they have never accepted Christ. Until then they can study the Bible and the Word all they want. But they will never understand it until they are born again and receive God's spirit. Only then can they really understand God's Word and feel their lives changed. Again, all of which being impossible unless they are born again.

Just laying it out but you get the idea. Ive seen your other statements before so I know your excellent at debates and making points at stuff like this.
