This is a gem. Not every day you get to see Christianity apologetics in 4chan. I'm saving this picture.

Not something you'd expect to see on a Christian webpage.
A lot of the monks were imperative in preserving culture, but when people refer to the church, they're talking about the higher echelons in which corruption and power struggles were common (usually leading to the deaths of thousands of peasants)
Ancient muslims also did a fantastic job preserving classical Greek/Roman culture, without which we may have had hundreds more years of dark ages and a stunted renaissance.
