They won't. It's widely known Hitler was christian, but they won't just admit that.

Guess you haven't heard of the fact that he persecuted Catholics and called Christianity a plague.

Doxa.ws

He was anti-religious, as if his persecution of Jews and Jehovah Witnesses wasn't enough to conclude this.

Interesting article, but terrible grammar. Next time, please find some with decent spelling and proper grammar. While it may not be a big deal for some people, it's a huge thing for others.

PS: The only kind of Nazi I am is a Grammar Nazi. Heil Grammar!

It's also widely known that Hitler later stated that he wasn't a Christian, but I'm quite sure none of you would ever admit that either.

he never left the church

and he claimed to the day he died he was doing gods work

the point is he was not atheist.
and his crimes were not "atheist driven"

CrazyOldTeenager, you're a pathetic liar. He never rejected his faith. Ever.

Nice logic you got going there.

"If you can't form a reply, scream like a toddler and make a fuss!"

Seriously? There's a reason people are supposed to study history in school. Right now, you seem to have never studied a single line of it. Secondly, it's people like you who give atheists such a bad reputation among the religious community. At least ComradeWinston and some of the others here know how to present an intelligent argument. You on the other hand, clearly lack that ability.

PS: For the record, I'm not saying Hitler was an Atheist, that would be just as stupid as claiming he was a Christian. I'm saying he was a plain, old bigot.

I still can't understand how can there be still people who are denying Hitler was Christian... I read many articles about it. Hitler WAS Christian. End of story. Just deal with it. And as I said it should not be counted as Christian murders (I know that many of you will still spread idea that atheists are murderers because of Stalin, French revolution and so on). I am not so shortsighted and these arguments shows how desperate some Christians are.

1. Just to be crystal clear, my accusation was directed at Sarge_Rho (aka Helge), not you. From one I've seen, you're of the few regular posters around here who actually know how to form good arguments.

2. I've also read extensively about this topic, and I've had to read a large number of his speeches. At some points, he claims to be a Christian, and in others, he decries Christianity as the source of Germany's problems, and quite clearly states it should be eradicated. The truth is, Hitler was fighting like mad for the years preceding WW2 to obtain the support of Germany's Catholic population. After all, Bavaria, the Nazi Party's center of operation, was strongly Catholic. The years before WW2 was also a time when Hitler sought the Catholic Church's support for his government. Hitler's promises of social change and reformation were at first met with support from the Catholic Church, but it eventually broke off political ties with the Nazi Party before the war.

3. Read Hitler's personal and public statements on the matter. You'll notice that during his campaign to sway Germany's Christian population, he was quite favorable towards Christian beliefs. Right before and during WW2, he adopted a much more aggressive stance towards Christianity and religion in general.

Perun I suggest you take some history lessons...

En.wikipedia.org (DetoNato'/Medusa's Holy Source)

Constitutionalistnc.tripod.com

www.leics.gov.uk/the_nazi_master_plan.pdf (PDF download)

Adherents.com

Bbc.co.uk (Maybe some school resource will suffice for you?)

Simpletoremember.com

So if you're going to keep claiming that Hitler was Christian then at least use some academic sources to support your claim. It's true that there were Nazis who followed their created version of Christianity but Hitler's Table Talk and his persecution of Christians speak against him being Christian. He was once just like Darwin but abandoned his faith.
