If you think this is bad. LIDAR on a chip will be worse.
I don't remember LIDAR systems being commonly used (if they are) to detect aircraft.
Not yet. LIDAR is already chip sized, so if they that put on an aircraft it's going to make getting the AIM-120 into the no-escape zone a lot more difficult.
