Basic Other.
This video tutorial covers two basic lighting techniques to get a quick and easy render of your models for putting up either here, on your ModDB mod profile, or your mod's web page - or even just for your own portfolio purposes.
The codec used is XVid MPEG-4; you can grab the codec from here if you're experiencing playblack issues.
The tutorial covers the following:
--Clay rendering:- Using the Skylight effectively.
--Combining directional and Skylights to create a globally illuminated model with detailed shading.
--Rendering a wireframe overlay on a model.
These techniques can be used on just about any 3D model (hence its in the "Other" category, I couldn't find a better one to submit it into).
Apologies for the bad sound; my microphone isn't fantastic. The filesize is whopping, but its in full resolution. Feel free to upload this to your own websites should you wish; or link it here. I hereby grant you permission to distribute or demonstrate anywhere you wish on the basis you don't edit the file nor charge money for it (includes subscription fees). If you want to mirror it; let me know. I'm sure ModDB will be grateful if we can spread out the bandwidth useage a bit.
Its a little disjointed - was made on-the-fly. Keep your eye out for similar tutorials I'll be making! This technique was used on the models shown in my modDB profile (if you're after an example).
Good luck!
