Are you a 3D artist? Are you looking for some inspiration? Do you just want to collaborate or know who your fellow ModDB artists are? Doesn't matter what application you use or how you do it... if you're a modeller, animator, skinner or looking at getting started with 3D, then this is the group for you!
Pobeda - car - model
i spy 5 sided, 6 sided, 4 sided, 3 sided, 11 sided polys :)
lol, good work otherwise
N-Gons are almost completely irrelevant if the normal for the whole planar suface is level. Its only important if you're subdividing or animating that particular surface, which I hasten to add, he probably wont be doing with this model (its high poly already and a car... so it wont deform).
Its all about workflow. Why maintain quads unnecessarily?
Its a kick-*** model. I love it.
Is that all? I spot a 26-sided poly. But as Maty said, doesn't really matter.
no it doesnt....
ive wondered for ages why modellers are soo obsessed with thr tris.. I model architectural primary..but i guess if depends on what you model..Im into engineered structures so nothing has to be stretched hehe...
couldnt imagine character modelling...shudder!
Well, I imagine it's more than the stated 24,000 tris. You will always have to be concerned with polys if you want it to move in-game.
Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think this is even for use in-game is it?
For example, you can't just have a square engine block and use this to normal map it and expect to have the engine look like that. Normal maps don't create geometry after all. They create trick lighting that appears to give the surface of a given geometry more texture (not in the decal, "texture mapping" sense).
Looks awesome but I don't think it's meant for normal mapping...
Thx all for comments, there are 24.000 TRIANGLES (not polys).
