Are you a 3D artist? Are you looking for some inspiration? Do you just want to collaborate or know who your fellow ModDB artists are? Doesn't matter what application you use or how you do it... if you're a modeller, animator, skinner or looking at getting started with 3D, then this is the group for you!
Hi this is my first really HI POLLY MODEL, and i want you guys to rate it 0 to 10.
PS: I don't know texturing yet, so don't try find any good textures in this model and the render is not the best too but what i can do?? I AM A NOOB! XD

I am accepting any idea how to do an better render wit good shadows.
nice... i'd give it an 8 aswell
I give it a 5. The second optical periscope seems to just be a scaled heightwise version of the first one - bad, because the opening is noticeably oval in contrast to the first one. The barrel also doesn't seem to have vertical mobility. Always make sure nothing clips when the model is actually animated, and study your subject. In this case, research tanks!
I can't quite determine what tank it is if it's based on a real one. Is it a Leopard tank? In which case, the contour of the turret is slightly off. Not to mention Leopards have a very noticeable gun mantlet which is missing in your model (that which covers the base of the gun, and hides the mechanisms that enable it to swivel up and down, which as I've already mentioned, your model seems to be incapable of).
EDIT: Oh, it's an Osorio, hehe. In that case, my comment still stands - there doesn't seem to be a gun mantlet, and Osorios have large ones.
Also you have placed an ungodly amount of jitter/sample spread/noise on your shadows. Keep it tight and only slightly fuzzy.
And learn texturing ASAP! It will give you much higher level of control on the detail, and you won't have to rely on pure geometry alone. Seriously, ASAP, so you'll learn earlier how to compensate for texturing when modeling. You need to start thinking how it will be textured even when you're still in the geom phase, that's the only way your models will ever be good for ingame resources.
Overall, it's good. :) It looks like a tank, and in the end that's all that matters in games I guess.
HAHA thanks for that comment ;D, if you want i can make an picture of all the moving parts of the tank (just don't ask too much i am not an specialist yet), the render... you got me i don't know why he finished like that i used mental ray shadows and render... but i was not expecting that effect and the textures... well lets just tel that is i start to worry wit modeling and texturing i will need make a second time my university, so i am making one and after i finish my modeling school i will make an photoshop one (i already have the contract).
Other thing that i can tell you is... the turret, the cannon, the machine gun and the wheels are totally mobile i just didn't got any render about then moving be-cos of the problem wit the mental ray render, i will fix this first then i will post more pictures wit all the moving pieces working.
But anyway thanks for your comment. ;D
I will try to be best. ^^
5 is a bit harsh - it may not be entirely accurate, but its not a bad model and I don't think the lighting is the important thing here :P.
I'll get a quick video tutorial up tonight on some basic lighting tips. Looks like you're using Maya - I recommend trying Max's lighting out, its much easier to set-up to begin with.
Keep at it :).
Thanks man... i am using 3d max XD... but i am not lerning yet rendering in my 3d scool so i am taking my shots!
7.5 - Very good. But I think it could use some more "polishing".
