I decided to model a weapon - something hopefully a little different. This is just a WIP, but it is looking nice so far, IMHO.

after posting it i realized i could have moved the blast doors a bit more so they didn't overlap so much in this render, and actually put in some lights, but oh well, you obviously get the idea.

Hard to tell much detail with that blinding white background.
needs a better contrasting colors render.
