Zombie Grinder is the debut game of TwinDrills, an indie game development duo made up of Tim 'Infini' Leonard and Jordan 'Jordizzle' Chewning. It's a multi-platform (windows, mac, Linux!) (also Free!) cooperative multiplayer arcade game, reminiscent in style and gameplay of retro games like 'Zombies Ate My Neighbors' and 'Super Smash TV!', but with the added benefit of some newer game mechanics - achievements, ranking, player-customization, rpg style stats and so forth. The game sports a variety of different game modes, from co-operative 'campaign' style levels, to wave maps and even the classic 'pvp' style game modes - deathmatch, capture the 'bag' and so forth. All of these mods are bristling with a variety of weapons and items, all lovingly displayed in Jordan's classic quirky pixel-art style.

I'm really thrilled with this game, so here I start a suggestion thread to regroup all the features the community wants to be added in future releases. I start with adding my suggestions. I'll update the first post regularly, as frequently as possible.

- Game : Building system (blocks, ammo crates, etc...).
- Game : Possibility to re-spec stat points, or have multiple character profiles.
- Gear : Female character(s).
- Gear : Riot gear.
- Gear : Shades.

- Weapon : Assault rifle.
- Weapon : Colt.
- Key binding : Reload weapon (manual reload).
- Key binding : Drop weapon (maybe too complicated for arcade controls).
- Key binding : Separate key bindings for menus and game.
- Key binding : Possibility to bind multiple keys for the same action.
- Key binding : Possibility to bind mouse buttons. Not actually use the mouse, just bind mouse buttons as we would bind keyboard keys.
- Key binding : Possibility to reset key to default.
- Server settings : Set max number of players.
- Server : Some kind of Rcon interface for dedicated server administration.
- [done] Game : See damage dealt with weapons instead of XP earned.
- [done] Server : NAT hole punching.

Still not sure on this one. We originally didn't want to overcomplicate the control scheme, and to keep the arcade'y feel. We didn't even have reloading for quite a long time. But I guess with the reloading system as it currently is it's somewhat necessary. I'll play with it/add it in the next build :3.

- Server : Some kind of Rcon interface for dedicated server administration

There is actually a very shitty interface for dedi-servers to see what happening on them. It's pretty awful though as we haven't really supported dedicated servers for quite a while. But with some of the latency/port-forwarding issues the game has brought up over the last few days it's something I'll be looking into ;).

(I mentioned reloading earlier. After seeing stats are player defined, you could easily balance a need for reload by pumping stats into it. However I still think the tactical advantage it would give the players would be neat!)

Hi there :)

I just want to ask, what do you think:

- Dont let the player start connecting to an already full game if he hit join in a 4/4 server..
- max player setting in hosting game ( will help prevent lag with max 2 or 3 players etc, or just somebody want max 2 players..etc)
- drop weapon. on cliff level i had 3 weapons my mate had little life and nothing, i wanted to give him a weapon ...
if you think it make the game complicated, i think not, because its optional.
- reload ( oh wait that was already suggested by Apokalyps)

( bonus question: i dont know, maybe just for me, but i think the reach vawe 10,20,30 achivement not working ?! )

( another bonus question, because you r a wonderfull person, and you deserve it :) So i dont understand this part fully, but
if a player's NAT is Closed, then his server should not be visible, since nobody can join anyways right? Correct me if iam wrong.

correction: Ok,i think if i host a game its not visible already if i have closed NAT. so the last question is useless, but then: with closed nat, the Advertise checkbox is meaningless.

The option is given because the game list is only updated every so often, what shows as 4/4 may have a space when your trying to join.

Rather fix the lag issues than reduce player counts lol. But I understand your point, I add a limit option later.

Huum, don't know about that. Trying to keep the game arcade'y style, dropping weapons and such just goes a bit beyond I think.

Closed NAT means people can't connect to your servers :)

thank you for the fast answer :)

Revarding that another 2 things what i discovered:

- if i hit alt+255 in the loadout to the character name, then my name become nothing ( well a space character, rather then untiteled or something, i tested it and my name was nothing. And not to mention i can have a (infinite? ) long name, when i tested it my name cleared the whole chat when i typed something in :)
- if a write a very, omg very very long sentence in the chat ingame, my chatbox hide half of the screeen :) :D And a too long name will do the same thing here as well.

Rather not place artificial limits on the name lengths, prevents the use of bbcode to make pretty names :3.

Unlikely, the characters are actually the developers/friends lol, none of us are female.

Hi there.

I think shields and bandages on c1-s1 level in cementery have a drinking sound when picked up :/

And my personal favourite in developing games: changelog. Please, if there is a changelog already then sorry, and where it is? Or if its not, well, its only a few minutes to create one :)

And i think sticky gun should be stronger. And to be hartder to use, it should be affecting the player too.

Oh and at the end of the credits, there are three jordan character. Its nice but should be different characters. Like the 4 different character in different poses or something.

And a quesion: The FBI watching you achivement. What need to be done to get that ? ( Maybe a hint in the description for the other players like me who didnt figured it out )

While the game is loading, maybe a picture in the background ?

I discovered another thing:

- if below my character is a house i see my character leg in the top of the house, and if i kill a zombie there than his blood too. ( this was on the c1_s1 map)
- and when i tried to kill zombies with the baseball bat, i realised, sometimes i kill them, and a second after that, i got hurt, i tried it with the uzi and same thing.

I wrote out a big long changelist message and lost it, couldn't be fucked to rewrite it ;(

Yeh there are a handful of layering issues around the maps - I suck at mapping.

Latency issue, need to tweek the server code a bit to be a bit more tolerant.

i cant send the avast report page because i cant send url's jet ( 7 days since my registration is limited) , and if i not insert as an url then its too long word and dont let me sand the message with over 100 characher words, if i chop the url into smaller pieces, it becomes a novel.. ( well its a long url, and still dont let me send it so sorry i cant show you :)

Well, i really really hope there will be a pause button, what stopps zompies...

I reached vawe 67 on cliff alone, with 204000 money, i died on this vawe. Now i can barly move my fingers :)

oh and achivement should go further than wave 30. and 50.000 money

oh and i did that with the stock pistol. It really kills zombies good if you shoot them from the side in the head.

Yes the headshot system is pretty much cheating atm (headshot+2d= Doesn't work) :P. Going to change it in the next version I think so the probability of headshots are a lot lower, or they can still attack even without their head :3

Well ok, but than make the headless zombies die from 1 or 2 bullet. ( i personally prefer the less chance headshot )

Hi there

- if somebody call a vote and then i join in, the game waiting for my vote too, but i cant vote. I can vote only if i was in there when the vote started.

- when i saw i have no buttons for vote yes or no, i quit the server and set Y and N. Rejoined, and still not worked, hovever the game told me i can vote with Y or N.
(game restart solved the problem)

-Key bindings: multiple key for 1 action (like : UP: w or upkey)

- Key bindings: mouse buttons. ( i know mouse wont work, but i can shoot better with mouse)

Little Sis and Scruffy Sidekick are 2 female heads not based on any of us, lol. I'll add in more chick hairs if people want.
