Zombie Grinder is the debut game of TwinDrills, an indie game development duo made up of Tim 'Infini' Leonard and Jordan 'Jordizzle' Chewning. It's a multi-platform (windows, mac, Linux!) (also Free!) cooperative multiplayer arcade game, reminiscent in style and gameplay of retro games like 'Zombies Ate My Neighbors' and 'Super Smash TV!', but with the added benefit of some newer game mechanics - achievements, ranking, player-customization, rpg style stats and so forth. The game sports a variety of different game modes, from co-operative 'campaign' style levels, to wave maps and even the classic 'pvp' style game modes - deathmatch, capture the 'bag' and so forth. All of these mods are bristling with a variety of weapons and items, all lovingly displayed in Jordan's classic quirky pixel-art style.

here's an idea for an hat, it fills a role that i don't see any of the other available hats in the shop fulfill:

Name: First Responder

Stats: +300% Authority (goofy stat, like 500% class), +100% health

cost: 50,000

image for referance: Ispraltd.com

and an accessory that would go well with the riot helmet:

Name: Balaclava ( alternative name: Ima Ninja :D )

Stats: +80% health, 20% speed

cost: 40,000

reference: Deadcaterpillar.com

I suggested 80% health for the balaclava because its competing with the ever popular antlers, which already give 50% health, and a 50% damage boost. to even things out though, you could alternatively give the balaclava a 50% health boost, with 50% speed.

btw, game is awesome, you guys are great examples of what it means to be indie developers :3

I like the idea of those!!! Once we implement being able to choose which order hats/misc items are displayed, I'll add them in :D At the moment, misc are drawn above the hats, so you'd have the balaclava displayed over the riot helmet :(

Also: for those demanding more female hairstyles:

Made these both this evening, and have a few more concepted :P

- 311: if i use the uzi on tiny map ( fireing all the bullets with no stopping, the noise of the uzi change (become strange).
- some fence problem on the extended part on the hub map. Under heist map next to the black hole some of the fence overlaps the player charter.
i mean the fence cut the character in half.
- for some reasoon the game minimizes itself for a longer time than before on hosting or joining a map.

Suggestion:
- on map: dontpress the button: covering the glass with wooden plates for ömm 300 ( 400, 500 i dont know..) cash. (what would be stronger, and because its just a few wooden plate with holes between them, you can shoot throught killing the zombie.

Oh and meybe repairing the glass can be taken out ( its kind of unrealistic and its holding back the zombies way too little time )

Well originally the glass windows were wooden. I sprited the glass ones on the assumption they wouldn't be repairable :P I'll sprite some wooden barricades some time soon! :) Also maybe some WELDABLE DOAHS! DOSH DOSH DOSH DOSH DOSH!

can i ask how that picture works? what are those white faces at the bottom used for?

time for some weapon suggestions :D

1. Colt .45

stats: a third the damage of a magnum (20-30 ish range), 15 round magazine, no penetration, this would be a nice upgrade to the basic default pistol.

2. the M14 assualt rifle

info: a magazine fed semi automatic assault rifle, very accurate, and very efficient.

stats: half the damage of a magnum, full penetration, double the ammo of a magnum, double the rate of fire.


the real cool thing about the m14 is that it comes in LOTS of different styles and configurations, so you can pick almost any style on it you want for fitting it into the game, from modern variants like the one shown, to classic wood stock, and even scoped sniper variants.

The second ones are the tint masks aka the part you can dye with paint buckets :P

I do have an assault rifle sprited, I just need to add them to the sheet :D A new pistol would be pretty nice tho :D!

baseball bat as buyable starting weapon? you guys are awesome XD
and maby an option to be able to boot the game up offline as I don't always have internet access

I like the new feature that tells you that you are reloading, you think you could make it so you can see if other people are reloading in the same way, so you know when to cover them and whatnot (also manual reloading would be great)

It would be nice when in the future none of the pistol weapons decrease your weapon speed. Right now the magnum makes you slower despite it's not much heavier than the normal pistol. That shotguns, machine guns and other big weaponry makes you bigger is a good thing though.

Edit:
The costs for reviving someone in the don't push the button level seems me a bit high. One would rarely get 10.000 coins in that game mode. The penalty for dying is 2.000, maybe it's fair to make the reviving costs the same or the double instead of five times so much.

Speed is based mainly on power of the weapon, not realism.

The dont-press-the-button map was one of the first we ever made. We currently aren't using the revival-machine anymore as you respawn each wave. Need to remove it when I get the chance.
