Hey guys, first off, I know we are late one day, and we are sorry, but I was out yesterday, and thus couldn't post anything. But, we made up for it with a double feature update!

Like us on Facebook: Facebook.com or follow us on twitter: Twitter.com

The Music:
So, some of you may remember my mention of Collin last week. Well, now I am releasing his first Main Menu theme to you guys. It is very cool and he has been making a bunch of concept tracks recently as well. But I will not be posting those, at least not for now. Feel free to post your thoughts on the music in the comments section and as always, give feedback, we listen to it all the time.

The Concept Art:
This is a piece of the city, which has been much less defined in the past postings, so I decided to upload this one to show the lighting and feel of the space.

The Near Future (next couple months or so):
We are gearing up for massive development, probably accompanied by a kickstarter campaign starting probably closer to Christmas. We are filming our pitch video on the 12th of November, in a little studio based out of my friend's garage, called Imaginology. So, we are really getting into the 3D part of making the game now, as we have finally found good and committed artists (easier said than done). So expect a lot of cool new content coming up, probably quite a few renders in there as well.

And finally, the song and concept:

Nice little City Concept Art

Oh, and remember guys, this theme doesn't represent the entire soundtrack! I'll be using plenty of electronic and synthetic (possibly even some dubstep xP) effects throughout.

My aim right now is to define an appropriate setting through the usage of synths, and then to add some more personality and melodic direction with orchestral instrumentation.

P.S. The post will be fixed as soon as possible. ^^,

Good effort with the menu music.
The first half weirds me out, though. The piano changes don't seem to really line up with any sensible meter or time signature, and the attack / release of the synthy string sounds is oddly swelly to me. I enjoyed from 1:20 onward a lot more, with the harp-ish arpeggio coming in and the nice lonesome piano.

Keep up the work on this project! I'd like to see it succeed.

Music isn't to my tastes. Taking piano lessons for 9 years makes me agree with finn. It's very odd. Some chords were just weird. But I like that. What I didn't like was the unhuman flavour the string swells gave to the whole piece. But that's terribly difficult to do with a computer music software. Curious to see more progress.

What program do you use? I'm assuming abelton live or FLS?

See the thing is, the game is sci-fi, so there is a degree fo synthiness required, and it is my firm belief that Collin was able to convey a nice Sci-Fi mood very effectively. But, hey that is just me, and I still appreciate your feedback a lot, and respect your piano prowess becase I could certainly not boast that.

Hmmmm, I can see that traditionally-trained individuals think down on my music, but that's most likely because I have absolutely no musical background or training. Plus, I'm not even twelve months into composition, so I still have a lot to learn and a lot of room to grow.

As for the DAW, I'd rather not say. Because if I do, I'm just going to receive more backlashing.

~Thanks for your feedback.

Collin,
I'm also self-taught, so I know where you're coming from to some degree. And as composers, the game industry is one of the hardest to break into. I got comfortable with composing for games by surrounding myself by amazing game soundtracks: Inon Zur, Jesper Kyd, Michael Mccann, Tomas Dvorak, etc. The whole "you are what you eat" principle is true when it comes to music; to some degree, what goes in is what will come out.
I don't want this to sound like I'm talking down to you; in terms of career, we're in the same place, I am certainly no greater. Just sharing some advice that helped me. I want us both to be successful!

I don't look down at all. For such a short time in composition, I'm highly impressed. The faults I found were difficult-to-solve computer issues rather than musical ones IMO, and I tend to be evil in my comments and focus on the faults. On the composition side, very nice work so far. And as Finn said "I don't want this to sound like I'm talking down to you; in terms of career, we're in the same place, I am certainly no greater. Just sharing some advice that helped me. I want us both to be successful!"
Looking forward to future compositions, this one was really creative- in a good way.
What program did you use for this? (or did you address that? No idea what a DAW is xDD) And do you have a music page up, 'cause I'd like to hear some more of what's in store.

En.wikipedia.org

I use a cheap DAW called FL Studio. It's very popular with the techno/electronic crowd. Basshunter used it (not sure if he still does or not) to give an example.

You can listen to my past works either here-
Limebooth.com

Or here-

Haha, I love FLS. In fact I have a page here www.soundclick.com/djdystopia (yeah, stupid name.) Terrible at composition for FLS, more of an electronic guy. Also know a bit of Sibelius.

Many people think FLS is for n00bz, but it's not.
I'll go take a listen as well :D

@ piedoom:

DAW = Digital Audio Workstation. Pro Tools, Logic Studio (which is what I use), Cubase, Cakewalk, FL Studio, and so on.

Cool concept art, I can't wait to see some of the concepts made into 3d models.

I like the theme song, the beginning sorta has a bit of a Metro 2033 feel to it. (Which is one of the greatest games ever created so... just in case you weren't sure, that was a compliment)
