Since Vector Thrust uses a tile based map loading system, would it be easy to make a simple editor where you can combine tiles together to make a custom map?

Of course, we would need flip/rotate as well, and some custom tiles to bind different biomes together might need to be produced (and maybe some more tiles for each biome set)

Yes the way the maps and textures are made it would work well to have a tile-based map editor.
I´ve considered in doing this before, but it would require a significant amount of time to make a useful tool. While this hasn't been completely rejected, it is something that I will only consider doing much later.

I'd love it if we got a tile based map making feature. Hasn't it already been asked somewhere else though?
