How much would the player's character and other key characters be represented in Vector Thrust? Here's some possibilites I could think of.

1) A faceless pilot, named or unnamed with no art/images at all. (Much like many Ace Combat games)

2) 2D characters with different/unique/individual looks and names, such as those from Airforce Delta: Strike and Over G Fighters.

3) 3D characters with generic pilot looks but different names (no face, pilots only seen with helmets and oxygen masks on), like HAWX 1/2.

4) 3D characters with different/unique/individual looks and names, such as Assault Horizon and HAWX 2's Crenshaw who was give a full appearance after being 'faceless' in HAWX 1.

Of course, this would be only for cutscenes.

Congrats, you've tagged all four types that are to be used in game.

Or at least as planned.

Between all the campaigns there are five ace playable pilots, we hit all of them in some way or another.

That being said I intend to flirt with all of them.

Five player aces for five campaigns? Now that's a winner! What'll be the sequence of progression in terms of development? Also, will we get to choose wingmen too?

I prefer AC style of character. I sometimes reply in real life to the things other people say on the radio. And i like to think they hear me.
But I can do with a well developed character too.

FaN, we've still got the genderbender, correct?

All this is as much speculation as anything else according to the plans, so anything I say is completely unofficial.

1st MC is a nameless guy, some good ole pilot who's got enough experience to apply to a mercenary outfit and stars in a revamped Alpha campaign, courtesy of MyHat. He'll probably make an appearance down the line in another campaign within the same region of his campaign.

2nd MC is a career military pilot due to his family. Father, grandfather, were high ranking officers and he follows suit. His motif is of being able to be of equal measure to his ancestors.

3rd MC is.... complicated. A woman joined up with an airforce inside a very, very large exclusion zone, I'll refer to it as the Hermit Kingdom, for those of you who know what I'm talking about, you can probably guess why: She needs to eat, the military is fed better than civilians. She becomes a good enough ace and then plot. Her motif is going to challenge what a self-insert is, what faceless characters really mean.

4th MC is another faceless pilot, You probably. We'll call you the Legionnaire. Your motif is that you and your fellow Legionnaires are above war. What you do with that is up to you with the war we give you.

5th one... Well, his story is more... emotionally driven. That's the one I won't really touch.

Protags 1, 3, and 4 share the same general region of the world in their campaigns, and their campaigns take place within the span of four or so years if I remember the concepts.

2 is on the same continent, but different region. Wonderful blonde hair by the way.

There's an intended group to be constant across all the character campaigns, sometimes a small mentioning, sometimes a very big intervention. This group is where MC 4 belongs to, it's evident in their title, but that's the unofficial name. It's the agency my report character and Overton are a part of as well.

You want to talk about a genderbender, well, any female pilot's gotta look regulation, that's guaranteed at least, but... I know what you're getting at, and I know that if I answer this wrong Serkeesian will be on my ass in a heartbeat, but a good character will be a good character as best as we make it, and that's what we're more concerned with than aesthetics. That being said I hope all the characters are good looking in some way.

Good to know. As they say, looks dont matter even slightly, so yeah.. though I do remember rumours 'bout a genderbending MC ace

Am I the only here who liked every single character being faceless and replaced with emblems ala Armored Core?

Nope, you're not the only.

Faceless is okay, but it'll be better if there's character art, even a 2D picture would suffice if there won't be any 3D depictions.

How would the art style for characters be like?
