I wonder whether selectable/custom AWACS operator as player-side taunt is possible. Bonus point if the AWACS operator also acts as announcer and can announce your kill streaks during skirmish, UT style. For campaigns/battle scenarios, they use preset choice of AWACS voice. |

That would make sense. I'd easily see it happening. Though, it's not just a matter of voice files in a .ini. The way I see it, an AWACS operator would need to have variables that define its behavior, such as frequeency of dialogues, wether or not it covers certain aspects ( air to ground / air to air ) of the mission, and the priority of its lines over the mission's ( for instance, making them play in the background at a reduced volume ). I'd see it easily programmed and added in, but it would require TS to build a basic AI for it for the pacing, and, a way to tell the game how to judge priorities between two files about to play one over each-other. Besides all this technobabble, I confirm once again: I believe this is a really good idea. Making AWACS operators as media entities in the game's "media" folders would allow for mod support, and, upon boot-up, the game would parse these operators to write down a selectable list in the options. That way, we can use any AWACS we want. I think it would become potentially interesting/amusing for Let's Plays. Among other things. |

There are multiple design fixes to be made in the voices still, and the AWACS tie to the layer is one of them. |
