The story of a "passive" deathmatch bot who takes a leap of faith in an attempt to change his undeniable destiny. This is a dynamic machinima movie and parts of it will play out differently everytime it runs. The main fight scenes in the deathmatch area are unscripted. As the bots step through the teleporters their ai is switched from a set of scripted actions to a kill or be killed mentality. What this means is that sometimes the battles are really great and you see lots of fighting, and other times the fighting isn't taking place right in front of the camera and the arena match isn't as explosive. It has no effect on the story, but was a notion that interested me from the beginning of the project. I like the idea of parts of the movie being different every time it's played... so watch it a few times and enjoy the variety.

This version is as complete as it could be in order to make the deadline for the msu contest. Giampiero and myself are working on a whole bunch of amazing sound effects to enhance the movie that just weren't ready for this release. This would include replacing all of the generic game sound effects with custom ones and adding footsteps in certain key areas. In general, I'd really like to enhance the overall production value of the sound effects throughout the entire movie. In addition to custom sounds, I'd like to look at replacing and updating many of the textures I used for the environments. the goal would be to create a collection of custom textures and not rely on any that shipped with the game. Also, I really want to update the water areas in the dm map... what I have in there is really generic right now. The unreal engine can produce amazing liquids and I would really like to update the water sections of the map with some nice fluid surfaces. Blue sky thinking would have me re-modeling all of the deathmatch bots to give the "Robot Wars" game a personality of it's own... this would be a large task as the models are so nice already - I wouldn't want to just make cheap imitations.

-Simon, for being the first person - outside of my wife - to show real enthusiasm about my little movie, and for always figuring out how to keep the project moving when the inevitable technical hurdles would arise.
-Giampiero, for jumping in head first and for bringing so much life and energy to the project!
-Buzz and Logan from 3dbuzz, for your exceptional tutorials.
-Dave Ewing, for creating such a beautiful particle system in DM-Antalus that I so liberally borrowed from.
-Chuklz, for giving me the initial kick in the pants i needed to get started and for always making me feel like this was something I could actually do.
-My leetllama bros, for just being inspirational and for hosting my files.
-Paul, Jim and Ileanna from Rezn8, for all of their understanding and support... and for not firing me.
-And finally, to my awesome wife and our super cool boys for putting up with my late nights and crazy schedules while I labored over this project.
