Sprouty, a sleepwalker acorn, go off in search of adventure in the world of Daydreamland. As any adventurers, his objectives are quite simple : To free the strange princess Rubby from the castle where she's captive, to seek out treasures, and to fight all the enemies on his way, to finally face Lord Bacon, the Daydreamland's tyrant. SPROUTY'S ADVENTURES, a classic platformer game, will take you to a psychedelic world. You'll play cute characters, and you'll fight against wacky or nasty vilains through the main adventure ... but, you'll have to be smart if you want to complete the bonus quests, that could bring you much more that you can imagine ...

The first thing we wanted to recreate in the 2D perspective was parallax for the background animation. This is an important element. Building this custom parallax system was also a great way to get familiar with the new tool we're using : Uni2D.

There was a small spoil in this news, here is the actual render of the parallax system. Say hello to our first video of Sprouty's universe :

Textures are not completely seamless for now, there is still work to do on them.

We also changed a bit the way we work in the team. To begin with, we worked on a lot of things at the same time because we wanted to go ahead. That was hard but we learned a lot. The concepts of the game are now written, so we changed the way we work to be more efficient. Now we focus only one thing at a time to do it right.

This change will also apply on the news frequency. From the beginning of the project, we wrote one news per week, showing some fresh news. But this takes time, a lot of time. I'd say we should just shut up and work instead of chatting here.

So from now, we will publish less news but they will be more interesting.

I really dig the style! Simple, but very elegant and cohesive. Subtle effects like the sunbeams and the contrast levels at various depths make this very pleasing to look at!

As far as news frequency, I think it's time for another update! Maybe some concept art? Eh? :)

Seriously though, keep up the good work guys!

Hi there Studio9.

I'm glad the overall effect and ambiance are perceived as pleasant. We did a lot of work on that part in the last months and it went farther than expected ! :-)

That's right, we did'nt write an article for such a long time. I can't give you a date, but I can say that the next article will come with a video of the actual gameplay.

Thanks for your support, it means a lot for us !
