ScrumbleShip is the most accurate space combat simulation devised to date. Gather resources, construct a capital ship out of individual blocks, then pilot it with AI or human help against other players.
This thing looks like a space beetle! I'm guessing carapace is pretty laser resistant? Though its chitinous properties might actually give it both decent laser and projectile defense.
I expect it'll actually be pretty poor at resisting damage.
What it will be, however, is relatively cheap and self-healing. Sure, your enemy's laser carve through you... But if they don't do heavy enough damage, the wounds just seal right back up again.
A large insectoid ship I'm constructing as another test-project. Discovered several small bugs to quash.
Cheers,

"Discovered several small bugs" i see what you did there sir
I actually didn't notice that until you pointed it out!

Sure you didn't. ;)

Oh, now THAT is cool. Kind of a voxel-by-voxel regrowth? Sounds awesome.
I guess this thing will need some sort of "food" to keep going, instead of ordinary fuel.
It... hadn't occurred to me that I could do that, or what it would look like.
In hindsight, I could add the regrowth pretty easily.
I'm going to go do that now.

So, when can we make these beauties fly?
I'm hoping to introduce some basic flying support in 0.15
