Red Alert: A Path Beyond brings the exciting storyline and epic clashes from the classic Westwood Studios game, Command & Conquer: Red Alert to realm of first person shooters, with a twist. We've remained loyal to the style and feel of the 1996 classic, while integrating content from its expansions Counterstrike and The Aftermath with a bit of updated history to add to the mix. Built off the W3D engine Westwood Studios built for classics such as Earth & Beyond and Command & Conquer: Renegade finished up in 2001, we help bring the fight to you as you play out your role as any one of a number of infantry classes participating in team-based combat that often involves land, sea, and air combined-arms clashes that just don't happen in any other game. Oh, and did we mention it's FREE?

Description

The Mobile Gap Generator is a sophisticated piece
of equipment used by Allied soldiers preparing an
assault or defending their own assets. Designed
with a support role in mind, It is not expected to
encounter Soviet forces on its own, and as such,
it is only lightly armored. Due to its great
range, however, it can generally stay out of
harm's way, especially when it is following
close behind a group of Medium Tanks. Despite
being almost totally useless in combat against
anything but the infantry it can manage to run
over, the Mobile Gap Generator uses advanced
theoretical physics to generate a zone in the
battlefield that is out of alignment with the rest
of the environment to the point that enemy units
(left purposely unaffected) find themselves nearly
blind, thus empowering nearby friendly forces with
an impressive tactical advantage.

The Mobile Gap Generator has been issued only to
Allied detachments expected to endure prolonged
combat situations or those that require the latest
technology to make victory possible. Friendly
units in the gap zone that minimize their
interaction with each other and the environment
enjoy the greatest protection against enemy visual
and electronic detection methods; however, being
hit by incoming fire and engaging in open combat
with enemy forces while in a gap zone will not
only minimize the benefits recieved from the gap
generator, but may also provide the enemy with
enough information to still get both a visual and
electronic fix on your position despite the
MGG's meddling.

Note: These images, taken from W3d Viewer, are
representative of the average appearance of the
Mobile Gap Generator on a low-end system lacking
shaders support. Your APB 994 visual experience
will be greater if your card supports Shaders 1.x,
2.0, or 3.0. This also explains why the windows
show no transparency like they will in-game.
