Overgrowth takes place in the savage world of Lugaru where rabbits, wolves and other animals are forced to use paws, claws and medieval weaponry to engage each other in battle. Combining 3rd person adventure platforming with intricate melee combat, Overgrowth achieves a unique feel. Overgrowth also benefits from Wolfire's brand new Phoenix Engine which has been built from the ground up to allow the use of cutting edge graphics, animation, and physics. Add to these exciting features Overgrowth’s realistic artificial intelligence and streamlined control system and the result is an astoundingly immersive experience.

John unveils another song from the Overgrowth soundtrack, check it!

Posted by Silverfisk on Aug 5th, 2009

As I mentioned in our previous music post, we’ve decided to start uploading Overgrowth music to our YouTube channel. The songs are composed by the talented Mikko Tarmia and often feature Anton Riehl on the flute. We tend to use ambient tracks a lot in our tech demos, so today I thought we should change it up a bit and reveal a different genre. It is my great pleasure to unveil Combat Theme 2. Be sure to listen to it in HD.

I am struck by how the music sounds both chaotic and powerful. It gives me the impression of an important fight whose outcome is dangerously uncertain. Additionally, the pitter patter of high-pitched instruments makes me think of nimble ninja rabbits. What impressions does the song give you? What kind of song should we reveal next: ambient, combat or stealth? You can find the growing Overgrowth soundtrack playlist here.(permalink)

What a perfect song for such a game. This will mesh perfectly with all of the fight scenes and such in Overgrowth. By the way, I think some stealth music would be wonderful with an ambient (but stealthy) feel to it. Music like that would be good for a subtle stealth scene that shouldn't be overdone to seem much more important than it is. Just my thoughts.

This song makes me think of being chased by a huge, fast beast. I'm dashing through trees, leaping over logs and decayed stone structures, and all the while it's hot on my tail (pardon the pun).

Sound great you can feel where the song wants to take you and gives the feeling of cat and mouse. Great stuff and how you paved and mixed everything down sounds great. Good fight or chase song

Creates the very atmosphere the name suggests. True to the overall setting without being too pretentious. It's neat, simple, and quite effective. Well done.
