Minecraft Beta 1.6 is getting released later this week, but hopefully on wednesday.

Here's the changelist so far:

+ Craftable maps
+ Hatches
+ Tall grass in some biomes
+ Mushrooms now spreads (very) slowly
+ Server property view-distance. Sets the radius of terrain updates (in chunks) to send to the players. Range 3-15, default 10.
+ Nether support to multiplayer

Bugs fixed:

* It's no longer possible to build solid blocks on the top layer of the maps (sorry!)
* Players stuck in walls will slide towards the nearest gap if there is one
* Made booster tracks speedier
* Severely nerfed fire so it spread slower, and doesn't spread infinitely
* Seeds are now found in tall grass, using a hoe on the ground no longer works

a little disappointed at some bug fixes since they were useful, but oh well, what's done is done.

which reminds me, theres one bug I wish was fixed, being able to waste bone-meal on fully grown crops.

;_; But... That's the reason we play Minecraft?

You're just strange, Lex :P

Especially on multiplayer. And when someone makes a house out of something flammable. They pretty much are asking for it.

fixing the mine-cart boosters?

sad :(

Reply Good karma Bad karma0 votes

no, just the powered track it seems, making it faster.

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote

No he did fix mine cart boosters, it's all powered rails now.

Quote:* Minecarts next to each other causing extreme velocities (sorry!)

That's what allowed the old boosters, which are now broken due to the fix.

Think it like this, now you can build rails right next to each other without them going the wrong way because of the carts driving into each other :)

Notch fixed 100 bugs. That means he added 200 new bugs.

Reply Good karma Bad karma+4 votes

Sometimes I just wonder how the hell anyone came across some of these things in the first place. But good job.

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote
