(Name of the game updated since I am an idiot.) Christopher Cash, Remie Piccoli and Teddy Daniels are a group of overeducated and underpaid professionals. Tired of always being runners up, three friends band together to take ghost hunting to the next level. Using the Dynamic Electromagnetic Full Range Scanner, or Spook Scanner as Cash likes to call it, they'll begin taking jobs across the city. Every photograph means more money in the bank. Joined by Christina Coles, team leader, they'll go house to house recording film, taking pictures and documenting evidence of the paranormal. Gameplay: *Mission based horror with an overarching plot line. *Earn money through the photographs you take to buy supplies for your future missions. *Use the Spook Scanner, a sonar like detection device that will lead you to ghosts. Get their picture and make a profit. *Get freaked out through ever intensifying horror as the ghosts you face off become ever more malevolent and dangerous.
I'm busy working out the final bugs to the system but here's the rundown of all the features present in the demo. Since this is the first stage it's a bit easier than I'd wanted but still puzzling enough to stump.
1.) Button Mashing Events
2.) QTE Events (working but hidden on this demo release)
3.) The Spook Scanner / treasure hunting system
4.) The morality system
5.) Dynamic lighting and shadows
6.) In-game inventory usage (no need to open the menu)
7.) Item combination in the menu to make new items
8.) The sanity system (will be more robust in future releases)
9.) Hiding games, chasing monsters, a final boss.
Ehhhh maybe it will still suck but I will let you decide.
It's time! It's here! The Beta demo which includes the first stage is going for release!
With just a few left before the demo drops, I go over what's in the game so far.
Well after roughly a month of work the full Spirit Seekers Beta Demo is ready to go. This introduces you to the hub world of Columbia University, Cash's...
This is a quick introductory demo of the Spirit Seekers, included the opening cutscenes and a quick show of how the Spook Scanner will be used. Typos...
I'm rely loving this game. very fun :D
Oh. thanks for the free anime art. My phone is loving its new wallpaper XD
So yeah gang the demo goes all the way to the end of the first mission :P
Have Skype? :P
When is the game going to be uploaded fully? It gave me like 12 minutes of gameplay
The demo is too short. Why?It was just a 11 minute video. Nice thing with spook detecter :D
Hey. I want to ask you something... Can you teach me how to make something like this??? Pleeeease :)
Can't play. Crash when it opens. Why
I don't know you're the first one to say anything about a crash :P Is there any particular type of error message?
Fixed. I didn't had the games rtp. Say that you need it to play in description.
Whops thanks my friend. I'll probably fix that in the actual release demo I'm about to release that goes all the way through the first stage.
No problem. Just keep on making th e game. Looks amazing . Gonna play it on YouTube. Good luck. Keep on working.
Yeah I just got a chain of commands sequence script to work, which I'll be using for two sequences in the demo before shipping it this weekend. I'm fairly happy with the final engine. Last script I'll have to implement is a dynamic shadows engine and I'll be done.
Good. How much do you intend this game to be when it's finished?
Well I wanted at least four levels and it took three weeks to program one level. I guess I'd like the game to be about ten hours long.
Why did you made the demo so short? P.S. The previous question was about how much do you expect this game to cost if you will ever upload it on steam of something like that. :) :) :)
Oh I havent thought too much about that. Five to ten dollars maybe? And that's not a proper demo that's a pre alpha demo to show off the spook scanner. I have the real demo coming in a few days.
Good. Congratulations! You are the most friendly developer I ever met. Good job. ^^
Secretly I'm not friendly I just talk a lot ;) Kidding kidding
Hahahahahaha ;) You got me for a second at that
