Jagged Alliance: Flashback is our vision of returning a once critically acclaimed franchise back to its roots, it's not a reboot, it's a reset! Our main goal is to bring back the tactical turn-based action that the original Jagged Alliance games are known for - the game was a thinking man's game, a thinking man with lots of guns! The games were unique in their blend of tactical turn-based action, controlling and maintaining squads of mercenaries, off and on the battlefield. As a player the decisions you made had a direct impact on how you played the game. Additionally, over-the-top personalities, memorable characters and role-playing elements made the games difficult to put away once you were hooked.
Jagged Alliance: Flashback just got bigger and more badass! We’re happy to say that the first big Early Access update is ready and we can’t wait for those with access to play it.
For your enjoyment we have put a small update video together to highlighting the main features:
With this brand new update we unlock 22 new sectors, introduce grenades and destructible environment, add hand- and sub machine guns as well as the ability to reload. Throw a grenade and watch it blow big holes into the environment and your enemies!
Keep your mercenaries healthy, as they can now bleed to death if you don’t patch them up with bandages. Also, don’t forget to pack your raincoat as the new weather system will turn the battleground into a mudslide. Day/night cycles will change fighting conditions fundamentally, so you better ready your flashlight as well. All these new additions will alter your strategic experience - enjoy an enhanced and growing Jagged Alliance: Flashback!

Not all things listed from the rollout plan made it in, but other none listed features such a weather system and volumetric lights did. Of course we’ll keep pushing forward to get as many features from the roll out plan in there, while we are working towards the next big update. Overall, we continuously improve gameplay on the tactical layer, but also shift our attention to the strategical map, and the gameplay happening there.
