lol, a sizzling 7, I didn't think it was THAT good, personally I would have given this map a 5, I gave my pacman map a 4 :P (Yeh, I know, how stupid, but as I keep saying, the scores mean jack squat all, especially when there are pety people who vote 1 without downloading the map at all lol).
JudoTrend, this was a map I begun after I did UltraTank, but at the time I was stumped with how to do it because I was also trying to make it realistic.
So then the other day I threw realism out the window and went for fun and playability, and it ended up like this :)
I was actually going to try and do something similar to the landscape at the start of that Chronicles of Riddick movie, where riddick is running across an open field that has really thin but close together rock formations, but I ended up just using pipes instead.
Anyway, thanks for the crits, the map could be better, but ohwell, it's not :P

Heh, thanks JudoTrend. I figured that people might complain that while moving along the pipes your player kindof jitters up and down, But realistically, you wouldn't be able to run and look straight ahead all the time and aim down the iron sights, so while you're in no mans land you've sortof gotta choose your approach.
Do you want to run and gun while leaping and bounding across the pipes?
Do you want to take it slow, stick to the edges and aim down the iron sights?
Or do you just want to sit and guard the capture points?
I was thinking about putting a small maze beneath the level aswell for 4 players, so that while those players are busy running around the maze, there will be bodies falling from the sky ontop of them :D
Lol, looks like someone went vote happy on this map, it was at 8.6 not long ago with about 10 votes, now there are 19 votes (13 downloads (excluding the admin download)), and it's now at 6.8 lol.
I'm guessing someone hates me and wants my maps to look bad..I wouldn't be surprised if all my other maps have taken the onslaught as well lol.
You aren't kidding; you must have a secret admirer. lol They should at the very least show what vote came from who so it wouldn't always up to the mods to sniff out abuse such as this.
yep, but ohwell, it is what it is I guess, maybe the admins will discuss this vote system to try and make it better, because even on non competition downloads the same thing happens.

lol yeh, pretty much what it is.
I was going to make a map called Pipe Dream where the whole map would be based in these small tunnels, but it really wasn't that appealing, and I figured it'd be funnier to do something like this.
Another map idea using a similar design was to have players spawn way up in the sky where each spawn point would have a really long pipe with gaps in it going down into water. As the players are falling they can try shoot one another through the holes of the pipes if they want. When the players hit the water, they survive, and then they jump out of the water and into a maze. The best part about that is, unless the players have played the map over and over and can memorize every entrance to the maze, they will not have a clue which section of the maze they have fallen into.
I never got around to that one as I was doing other bigger maps.
