:CATEGORY: WHAT THE!? :GAMETYPE: ALL :HOW MANY PLAYERS?: 12-16
This map is inspired by the movie Aliens, even if you don't see much resemblence, the landscape in that movie and the big facility and so on was the inspiration.
Basically it's set sometime in the future where the UFLL and APR are the 2 mightiest factions in the universe (lol), a UFLL weapons transport ship had malfunctions and had to land at the nearest planet, which just happened to be occupied by APR forces. This planet is similar to earths atmosphere, however it mostly consists of sand and spikey rock vein pockets which are said to be made from a large creature living under the surface of the planet.
The planet has the same time cycle as earth, but is known to rain for weeks on end, which seems to disturb the planets under surface inhabitant.
The UFLL have no choice but to unload some of their cargo and put all it's crew to combat duty to invade the APR base in order to repair their ship and get off the planet, or to create a cleared drop zone for a full scale invasion on the planet itself to aid in the battle against the APR forces.
Both UFLL forces and APR are evenly matched, however the APR have more of an advantage due to their base fortification.
The map is designed for all game modes, and to be entered into the "WHAT THE!?" category (surprise surprise).
The map does slightly exceed recommended map limitations in the editor, however still runs silky smooth with a slight framerate drop around light sources.
There is a facility which has a small indoor section, as well as the full exterior play area which could also double as a race map if people choose to do that.
Development has taken approximately 14 hours.

The APR base looks great, and seems balanced well, the UFLL not as impressive but that is understandable. Indoor areas are really great, but the outdoor scene is a little bit too spread out. It does have a cool look though. The problem I can see is that it is hard to predict where the hot spots will be. Looks good all in all.
Thanks fellas, I saw that as being an issue aswell zahlenbechk, but to run around on foot in this would be a real pain, so, I think that the hot spots will only be quick 1vs1 battles when 2 people manage to run into one another suddenly while driving around in their dune buggies, as well as the actual capture spots.
I can't really help make the UFLL base look more interesting. Originally the ship was on the ground and there was no cliff, and you could walk inside of the ship itself, but obviously it changed now :P
BTW, there may be some rocks that people can get up, I tried to go around and fix up some of the rocks to prevent this, however I couldn't do all of them obviously :(
