:CATEGORY: WHAT THE!? :GAMETYPE: ALL :HOW MANY PLAYERS?: 12-16
This is my last entry into the competition so I thought I'd make it good ;)
This level, like my Ultra tank level is based on a big giant mechanical war machine, only this one doesn't use treads, this one has 6 legs and walks on them (who would have thought).
The back story is that the UFLL and APR forces finally gave in to one another and tried to resolve the war with unity and peace (......!!!), and...well, they share things now, but they don't sleep in the same sleeping quarters, and of course they both still love spreading their faction posters around and doing all that good stuff, so anyway, basically the UFLL and APR are working together to create a peaceful world (using giant war machines with big guns....) and are the crew of the Bug Walker MKII (the MKI took it's first step a year after the Ultra Tank was created...that first step was also it's last...).
From time to time the UFLL and APR groups decide to play a little blood sport aboard this walker whenever it overheats (and takes days to cool down...), this sport is all in good fun and completely safe of course, since both teams have the magical ability to RESPAWN now that technology allows for it (Unfortunately the MKII doesn't heal quite as easily from the scars of these battles...).
So here you are, on the APR or UFLL fighting for silly little diamonds or trying to stand next to a smoking barrel the longes, or simply just blowing the hell out of one another to see who can get hurt the most, so at the end of the day everyone can head down into the small bar on the interior of the MKII and have a nice cold beer together before doing it all again straight after....
And that's that.
As for the design...uhm...it's hard to explain, it has a reasonable sized detailed interior, and an exterior which players can travel in and around. It's pretty much mirrored from one side to the other (although we all know you can't mirror objects in this editor), so it's balanced evenly on both teams.
I hope you all enjoy my last entry as much as I enjoyed (lies >< ) creating it.
For those curious of how long it took, I did 3 hours the other night (friday australian time), and 14 and a half hours today going from 5pm until 2:30 approximately.
So right now I can't wait to go to bed and have a good nights rest.
ENJOY
Dl'ing now; I'm scared already. XD
Looks great. Interior is fantastic looking. I do however have a couple small complaints. The top section is kind of out of the way for game modes other than uprising, but I suppose it could be a good little place to lob grenades from and snipe unfortunate buggers walking by. The corridors are kind of narrow so with a full load of players in tdm it could get a little cramped, but interestingly it forces players to take the fight to the upper platform thus sort of solving the first problem. Diamond stations seem like they are in weird places at first, but after doing some test runs it makes a bit more sense. Good job with the look especially. 8/10
Thanks. You will notice that both teams are pretty much going to run outside and be right next to one another aswell, so that is going to be a bottleneck right there unless the more sneaky players run the long way around and up to the top deck to get across to the other side.
The diamond stations really couldn't be put in any other spot, and the cover on the sides was kindof a spur of the moment thing since it was early morning and I was so tired.
It wasn't really built for CTD, but more so TDM and Uprising game modes (I should have said that in the description :P ).
Thanks for your input, and lol to the person who keeps voting 1 on my maps, oh so pety.
I would give it a 10 to counterbalance, but that is setting a bad example.
lol, don't worry about it :P I really don't care THAT much, It's just pety and could possible effect some people who look at scores before downloading.
Heh, looks like fun. Next time I go to my friend's house I'll try it out with him.
this thing is bigger than it looks =D! I like the inside layout, and also how you can see through the floor on the outer walkways, so that you can see the massive legs and exterior of this beast. Makes you feel more like you are riding in this thing :D. i wish you could drive it from the control room and fire the missiles xD gj man
HAHA you and me both mate, if we could animate objects this would be aaaaawesome :D
i love that there are rooms in the belly of the bug nice work
Yeah, the terrain wasn't really a big thing, and it was so early in the morning that I just wanted it over and done with, 14 hours straight is taxing :S
