this is my map i made for the competition, its Alcatraz prison and the island, meant to be played as deathmatch.. hope you guys enjoy it, i enjoyed my tour of the place when i went there in 2004 its amazing!

There's a lot of major bugs in and on the main building
Well, I sure hope that this map is for "What the..??" category, because "Real world landmarks" already has an Alcatraz map.....oh wait, it´s mine! (:
As long as it's not noticeably similar apparently it is ok to do another version of that which has already been done. Having said that it would be considerate check if a map has been done first before poaching someones idea. Not much you can do though...
tioslash, it doesn't matter, let the judges handle it, this can't be a WHAT THE category map since it's clearly a landmark, so unless there is some hidden landmark category criteria that i've missed or misread, then this map is another landmark map.
Personally I don't see a problem with doing this if someone thinks that they can topple your map, however the judges decision is final, they will decide which one is the better map to choose from if they are considered to be top maps, just gotta wait and see.
NOW i'm gonna go test and see what this is like.
BTW, if someone does the same map you've done and you think it's better, then work on your map some more and go even better again, that's the competitive attitute, it's like a fuel to be more involved in the competition.
ok tio well i did download yours, checked it out i think i made abit of an effort with my map thats all im saying... ;-) i have worked on the map for about 3 weeks even before i knew there was a competition and uploaded it somewhere else. then i uploaded it here i really dont mind if i win or not the machine i built now is better than the competition prize i just build for fun. im also making the coliseum at the moment for all modes of play. the nbest of luck to all of you and above all just have fun.
oh yeah yeah...I´ve got it wrong...now I checked the post of an admin in the forums again and I understood correctly, it says only if the map is exactly the same...sorry ;(

no dungeon mate i didnt have the plans then, but it got everything else its worth a look, dowload it then leave mea comment? also nearly finished making the coliseum goto www dot farcry2maps dot com and look in forums under wip maps its there. sorry bout site wouldnt leme post link.
well unfortunately, being the purist and having the high standards that i have, i cant give you a GREAT rating, cuz it doesnt include the dungeon level, but it DOES look very nice. in order to give a really accurate review, i have to play online, but for appearance, it looks well done.
pardon the dungeon gripe, but without that, it IS inaccurate.
