Its almost time for release. I think we've been working on this patch for about a month now and I'm pretty pleased. We've done a load of features, additions, upgrades, optimizations, etc and we've definitely solidified some of the main concepts we have for Crawle.

Its almost time for release. I think we've been working on this patch for about a month now and I'm pretty pleased. We've done a load of features, additions, upgrades, optimizations, etc and we've definitely solidified some of the main concepts we have for Crawle.

Since this will probably be the last development post before 0.2 I'll post a changelog:

0.1.1 --> 0.2.0

- MAJOR FIXES
- House roofs now save properly.
- Not really a fix but NPCs are no longer stored in the world.

- MINOR FIXES
- If you haven't changed the display settings saving options will not
change the display settings.
- Changed the 'Back' button on the options screen to 'Save'.
- Options no longer autosave, you need to click 'Save'.
- More accurate bars.
- Replaced some of the old ugly buttons.

- ADDITIONS
- House floors.
- Holes (properly).
- Resolution options (including custom resolutions).
- Sound/Music options.
- Multiplayer option.
- New water.
- New sand.
- Replaced houses with villages.
- Removed ladders from holes (need to be added manually).
- Added baskets.
- New types of flowers.
- Modding support.
- Dungeons.
- Chests (in dungeons).
- Sound & Music no longer player when the window isn't active.
- Languages.
- Villagers.

Now you may end up in game and you may wonder why some of the stuff I've put on the changelog isn't obvious or isn't finished. For example multiplayer, you probably can't see the button, this is because I'm planning to do a whole other huge patch for multiplayer later on.

Another would be modding, modding is almost complete in terms of code but we'd like to add documentation, tutorials, etc before letting the creative bunch do their thing with modding.

Modding is something we'd like to take our time with thus we'll also devote a huge patch to it as well and when the time comes we'll reveal our plans for modding.

Oh and languages; the ones we currently have are:
- French
- German
- Spanish
- Binary (hehe.. heh)
- Dutch
- Danish
- Russian
- English

A big thank you goes out to those of you who took the time to help us out with adding languages to Crawle, you have been credited. Now some languages may not work, for example Russian, again, I'm also planning a patch to add dynamic special characters to the game but this may come after modding, combat, etc.

Finally, whats gonna happen next?
Well, because we now have a nice little updater we're going to start releasing public test versions of things that we are working on. This'll give you lot the chance to voice your opinions on what we're currently working on. I do have a plan for what the patches are going to be but as you may have noticed other bits and bobs may get thrown into the mix (like this this patch for example, languages were never planned, neither was multiplayer nor all the new seed types).

Again, the update should come tomorrow (21/1/12) if all goes well, it will probably come with an installer for those of you who cannot be bothered with registering the DLL (thats another thing we're working on).
