Hey folks, I'm Pbcrazy, a programmer for Crawle, currently working on overhauling the graphics engine.
I finally came up with a method for handling lights in DX8 for Crawle. So I've spent today attempting to implement them into my "playground". Here's where I'm at so far:
1. They're working! Sorta... There are a bunch of really bad artifacts appearing, and some dark spots, which is interesting. but all well. I think I know how to fix all of those.
2. The current lighting system doesn't affect FPS what so ever, as all of the light values are pre calculated. Which is wonderful, that means I can have 128 lights on a map at one time, and still be running at greater than 3000 FPS!
Anyway, here's an amusing pic of my work so far, you can kinda tell that the light is supposed to be positioned at (2,2)...
That is all,

Can't see it :\
Its the 3x3 square that is significantly lighter than the other squares and just diagonal of the top left black square.
No, I mean the image, I can't see it. Nothing.
Interesting...
