Crash Bandicoot Returns was originally to be a simple mod for Crysis. But thanks to Crytek and its graphics engine, the CryEngine 3, it finally gives us the opportunity to develop a game in itself, totally free and for PC. CBR will be a sequel and not a remake of the series.

Post news Report article RSS Feed Crash Bandicoot Returns is not dead!

Another few weeks and the CBR project will restart again. I unfortunately limited information to give you for now but do not worry, the project is not abandoned.

Hi everyone,

I know that you wait patiently for information and an update of the mod but for now it is still paused.

But here information will reassure you. The project is not dead!

An animator contacted me and it may well be that the project will restart again. However, I have bad news. My ex-team mate has lost all its data, and the level in ancient Greece.

But do not worry, this level will be re-created. For the rest, unfortunately I did not have much spare time for several months and will develop more slowly but I would do my best for you to have at least one or two playable levelswith animations suitable for Crash before the end of the year.

However, I said that I always look for a LUA programmer or C + +, as well as a Level Designer and a second animator for the characters. In the meantime, feel free to share this article and to talk about the project around and on the internet, etc...

And I thank you all for your support!

Why? Is CE2 unworthy just because there's CE3 now?

With CE3 it can be a standalone game rather than a mod.

Yes. It's an unoptimized piece of **** and I never liked it. To top things off for some reason it doesn't work on my rig anymore. One minute I could play for hours on end, the next the framerate slowly and exponentially gets worse and worse as I progress through a level. Iin beginning of C1, from the beach to the cave before you have to take out the first enemy on the rock, you know that part? Yeah, from the beach to the rock, the game runs slower and slower no matter what's on screen before the computer RESTARTS ITSELF. You'd think it's just the game, but nope. Warhead does the exact same thing when I get to the burned down village in the start of the game. Mind you, a few months ago I ran this just fine maxed out. I would like this on CE3 so I could actually play it, because I really want to. I'm sure many others who don't have Crysis do too.
CE3 on the other hand runs just fine, has a bigger possible install count, and is an overall more powerful engine despite the stigma around Crysis 2 which does not reflect the quality of the engine at all ( to you ******* inbred mouthbreathers who equate Crysis 2's graphical quality to it's engine's graphical quality).

PS: If anyone has heard of this problem, and knows if there's anything to do about, don't hesitate to holler.

I have been waiting for quite a while for a new Crash game and this looks very good, keep up the good work and as far as ideas go for the soundtrack I have composed a piece recently and it could fit in this game:

That's too bad about the "lost level" but it seems like you guys can manage it. I'm assuming you have the layout still avaliable.

Recently got Crysis 1 for the mod as well.
