Blaze is a retro/minimalistic styled sci-fi first person flight/shooter action game. The game can be played almost single handedly with just mouse. It's about shooting a lot of alien things (in semi-randomized missions?). The alien things are trying capture all your base, and have already captured at least half of it. You have to defend the base and capture the alien controlled areas back. Or something like that...
Here comes the Walker/Tank. 260cm tall. Equipped with... let's say Pulse Miniguns. Maybe they could spin when fired... I had also thought of it could have rocket launchers on the shoulders, but maybe I'll do that for some other enemy.
1438 tris.
Only issue I see with this is its so tall that it should be able to step down from larger areas, but step down meaning more to animate so it doesn't just hover half off a platform then fall.
The walker monsters can jump. Need to make it so that different monsters have different probability for jump, and jump less if they're on the same floor level as their enemy.
Heck, make them jump in general to make them tougher to hit.
That blue thing looks like a barrier. Will there be shutter doors like Zelda where you need to kill all the enemies?
The blue thing is a portal to another level. Currently there's not much goals for player to do, but there will be more.
These levels I have done so far are like prototype levels that I've used to test the level transitions and random monster re/spawning based on player's status.
I hope by the time the game is done you have loading hallways or loading doors so its not a level end, but a continuation. But for now, I understand that its the end of the level.
Well, player can travel back and forth between the levels, so it's not exactly a level end.
At the moment there's 1 hub level that has portals to 3 other levels. 2 of the other levels also have portals to each other. The 3rd other level has an "exit" that will work when player has found some items from the 2 other levels.
So it's sort of like in Hexen, Quake2.. except monster and other stuff will respawn, so the levels don't ever become empty.
