The Battlefield franchise enters a new era equipped with more firepower, modernized weaponry and vehicles, and a deeper infantry experience from the jungles to the beaches of Vietnam. From villages on the Ho Chi Minh Trail to the city streets of Hue wage modern warfare as the United States or North Vietnamese Army (NVA).
UPDATED PATCHER - Fixes some pathing issues & details for several maps. Has a nice update to White Star, fixed the floating medic box & added numerous details & ai tweaks. The NVA now travel correct path and there is 2 trails out of the valley.
Final note...the Forcepack Maps span from President Eisenhowers "White Star" Missions all the way through to the last days of the ARVN at "Pleiku", following the US Withdrawal.
This is the most complete timeline I could give & it includes every 'major' battle recreated as accurately as possible, without sacrificing play-ability.
Rolling Thunder is one of my Favorites only due to the AIR CAPTURE POINTS where only aircraft can reach - not choppers ;)
Ap Bac & White Star are my Favorite Infantry Maps
LZ Xray Night is the Map I played the most, love trying to defend against the NVA pouring down the mountain! (The poor troops that went through that, what a mess.)
Is this the full game?
Wish it was, Battlefield Vietnam is hard to find I have heard. Last place I saw that had it was Amazon. Think this game is pretty much dead since gamespy went down, but single player should still work with these maps. I always try to add AI for bots in all my releases, so obsolete games can still be played single player in a worst case scenario.
Ah, I've heard. Surprisingly Bf1942 is still running kinda strong and so is FH2. But I really wanted this game hopefully I can buy it for my b-day.
"Scott Pinkerton, ya bloody bastard, that's MY helicopter!!!"
*boom*
"ARGH"
(Scott Pinkerton is an AI name from this game, if you'd forgotten/didn't know)
The same Scott Pinkerton that I had to shoot 100's of times as I hijacked his jeep? That Scott Pinkerton?
TK for the driver seat was very common with all the bots ;)
You could also order them out I guess, depends on the situation.
Yep, that's the guy. I landed in the La Drang valley in a huey gunship and told Scott to hold position in the second seat, but he then changed to the pilot seat and took off.
(And then he crashed)
Yeah, ordering them out sometimes works. Not very often though!
XD
Dang it, it logged in as a guest.
(It was me posting the above)
Oh man that's epic when they steal the chopper and leave you in a hot LZ. You call him back and he says "ROGER THAT!!", but he still flies away :(
Scott is now probably General Pinkerton :P
I know right, but it's much funnier when you land at an enemy base and then the enemies steal your chopper!!
RAINFALL IN BATTLEFIELD VIETNAM.. Moddb.com
I look forward to the patch. Very well done. I was under fire by a house, and i saw the muzzle flashes and near misses. It would be cool to hear the heartbeat sound when that happens, rather as a weird countdown. But i guess that would be impossible to do. Man those large maps FEEL large too. The Bots are very nice as well.
