I would argue that Baldur's Gate II is the greatest game ever created for PC. Similar to its predecessor (Baldur's Gate) but superior in every conceivable way Baldur's Gate II is an epic story telling of not only the path you make, but the friends your character makes, the villains he fights, and the Forgotten Realm he lives in. As an avid player of both, BG2 takes the cake.
IWD, lost lots of the spell caster interest, especially 2.
depends what you want.
BG is better characters and story, IWD is more challenging with more rewarding combat.
This game is freaking awesome!
I'm playing this now with the Baldur's Gate Trilogy mod (BGT). I played it a long time ago and it still rocks!
