I would argue that Baldur's Gate II is the greatest game ever created for PC. Similar to its predecessor (Baldur's Gate) but superior in every conceivable way Baldur's Gate II is an epic story telling of not only the path you make, but the friends your character makes, the villains he fights, and the Forgotten Realm he lives in.

The story alone, with hundreds of branches, multiple plotlines that interweave could make a text adventure that would put most modern games to shame. We haven't even touched the gameplay which is free of grinding and tactical on a level that is rarely if ever matched by any other RPGs (Fallout and Arcanum being the closest comparisons).

The artwork in this game may be 2d, but the sprites and environments have aged remarkably well; far better than 3d games of its era or even the generation of games after (Neverwinter Nights). If you have never played this game you are doing yourself a disservice as a gamer. Play this game and its predecessor and prepare yourself to be amazed.

By Far the most advanced Rpg of its time, Rich story telling, some of the best individual characters (MINSC and BOO), strong story and history, and some of the most wonderful isometric Environment Painting and more customisability than you can shake a stick at, Black Isle we miss you and your amazing talents xC Bioware may try to Start where you left but no-one does it like Black Isle..... Anybody who has not played the Baldur's Gate Series and an RPG Fan, (where have you been) this is the greatest series of Rpg's to grace our screens. A DEFINITE MUST HAVE (and MUST PLAY MULTIPLE TIMES xD)
