Act of War continues to genre of military strategy war games, but does it on a grand style. It's near future plot strikes close to home, placing the American public at the mercy of huge gas prices controled by an evil criminal organization. The United States has no choice except of course, to invade. The USA army is dispached, along with an elite military task force led by you.
The game has a impressive graphics engine, and it appears with all the bells and whistles of a 2005 game. Going farther beyond most games however is the story. Revealed through both ingame events as well as live action movies the story and its accompanying game are sure to please fans of the real time strategy as well as traditional gamers.

Does anybody here know of a fix for the too much RAM problem with this game?
now where'd the installation disk go...
my fucking incompatable video card really pisses me off... I CANT PLAY THIS!!! LOOKS PWNSOME THOUGH!!!
Its a grait game, but has somone think to mod it???
I believe it wasn't an easy game to mod.
Yeah, the game is a bit unrealistic. One SWAT unit took down an assault helicopter with like three bursts (maybe that is realistic, if he placed the shots well? Who knows haha).
But it's so fun at the same time.
I just love this game.
i didnt like the idea of robots and invisble tanks.soldiers,cars.and when did assultrifles shot down hellcopters?
and the game in suposed to be in a not so distent future like 2007 or 2008
(sorry for my english i am norwegian)
I really like AOW, the only thing that kinda ruins it for me is the actors, the main bad guy looks like a misplaced frenchy/russian and talks the same way too. In the older C&C games the cinematic pieces were much more convincing and alot more humourous too, this game really takes itself abit too seriously and so do the actors.
oh and the ending of AOW was a bit un-subtle, they end up nuking the bad guy because they can't apprehend him or get him otherwise... it's a bit too american for me as a european ... kinda ironic that this game was made by frenchies... (correct me if i'm wrong)
oh and compare this to Generals and Generals really does not come out on top.
NO cinematics, + Zero Hour's cinematics (which were lame to the max) + unrealistic ground troops... since when is a paladin tank a normal tank equipped with a laser? ...a paladin is supposed to be an artillery tank but oh well...
oh and I'm kinda getting sick of those middle east-oil-crap-battles and so is China as a superpower...
What AOW really sets apart from generals is that terrorists act smart in AOW, they bring chaos by bringing down nuclear plants, they screw up stuff using computerviruses, much more realistic than generals in which they try to take on the world's most modern army using, technicals and late '60 russian armament.
ok this was all abit random
but it comes down to this, EA games >> generals = Shallow
AOW = a really challenging and fun game, the only thing that isn't really good is the (voice) acting
aweome game in my opinion but would it work with the ATI Radeon 9550 256Mb video card ?
