Act of War continues to genre of military strategy war games, but does it on a grand style. It's near future plot strikes close to home, placing the American public at the mercy of huge gas prices controled by an evil criminal organization. The United States has no choice except of course, to invade. The USA army is dispached, along with an elite military task force led by you.

The game has a impressive graphics engine, and it appears with all the bells and whistles of a 2005 game. Going farther beyond most games however is the story. Revealed through both ingame events as well as live action movies the story and its accompanying game are sure to please fans of the real time strategy as well as traditional gamers.

i like act of war but Major Jefferson the hero ruiend it a bit. In most missions you could complete the mission with just him as he is so powerfull and made building other units pointless. I think another way to improve it would be to be able to send your units back when your not using them anymore because usally i found my self with to many units getting in the way as only small task forces are needed

AoW:DA is a great RTS in my opinion, though it does lack some "minor" things that could of been such as being able to turn a building when placing it down. But in other specs AoW:DA is equal to Generals in my opinion for Generals has decent graphics and the gameplay never seems to get old with continuous MODs being developed and launched.

If I were to put Generals up against AoW:DA, it'd be a tough and long battle to see which wins in my opinon.

Okay, think about it, Generals was complete crap next to this - plastic looking vehicals, a complete peversion of the C&C Franchise, and a campaign with NO STORY WHATSOEVER!!. Act of War has - Realistic looking units & gameplay, a fresh new entry into the RTS Genre and not just a crappy rehash with a new engine, a campaign WITH SOME DISCERNABLE STORY!! So really, comparing AoW:DA to Generals is like comparing Ice Cream to Ass Cream...

But there is one thing better that atari has done over EA Games (command and conquer generals) and i like this feature a lot not even dawn of war has it... I dont know if you have notices but the guns in command and conquer and dawn of war are unrealisticly large... Whereas act of war they are the real gun SIZES AND SHAPES. The campaign is good too..

I reckon they are getting lazy. and miss out on the little things... it is still a good game but i reckon Command And Conquer: Generals is still better....
