Ok, so before you post your reply, please read this.

I am looking for a PC game that you buy in the shops, NOT a free download.
Reason?
Well, because all the games that are free to download, only offer you a basic pack, and you have to end up spending money to buy upgrades or better equipment and weapons, so at the end to me that doesn't work.
People end up spending more money on a free download, than if they just buy the game.

Having said that, you have to pay an online subscription for WOW, to be able to play online, and i don't want that either.

So, what I'm asking here is for a list of games that you know of, that you only have to pay for the game...
So the level up, weapons, and upgrades are done in the game it-self and you can use them online at no extra cost.

Thanks in advance.

You might find your options to be pretty limited if you want a true massively multiplayer persistent world. That Massive and Persistent bit is going to cost someone a lot of money, so if that isn't you (and the other players), where does that money come from?

Hope you find what you're looking for, but if you can't, at least now you know why.

I know this may not be what you're looking for, but as Gib said - maintaining MMOs is expensive, so somebody has to pay for it. From the experience of the open beta and judging on the changelog, Mortal Online is probably the best MMO, and I can recommend it:

Mortalonline.com

I only decided not to buy it, because I can't waste that much time playing, right now. That being said, I can only hope they got rid of the bugs by now. Great game, anyways.

Well, thanks for the replies.
How about any co-op games, like either survival horror, or military action?
I know resident evil 5 has a multi-player mode, but it's only available for ps3 and xbox, and I don't own neither consoles.
I rely on my computer for multi-player games.

I was going to buy transformers 2 for the pc, but i would imagine being very repetitive, and therefore getting boring after a dozen of plays.

RE5 is available on steam on the pc platform for a while now, wait for a sale and get it with a deal, i would say l4d2, killing floor are some cheap horror survival games, you can also try alien swarms which is free.

Alien Swarm is free on Steam. You have to download Steam and search for it. It's 4 player coop, quite fun, some very nice game mechanics.

Sacred is a very good online rpg game. maybe you want to try out borderlands and mass effect 1 and 2. got them a few day's ago and so far i really enjoy them. both should be available for pc.

i myself don't play mmorpg games at all. Freemmorpglist.com
what about battle forge?

Dawn of War 2 has great action-RPG style Co-Op content. Its campaign is co-op and it also has a game mode called last stand, where the goal is to survive as long as possible to get new equipment.

Since you said MMORPGs that you have to buy and have no subscription fee, the only thing I can say is Guild Wars. Also, if you are willing to wait long enough, Guild Wars 2.

I should b able to find guild wars on Amazon... I'll have a look.

Is Opinion Online downloadable or do i find it on the shops?

EDIT:
Just checked Guild Wars, and there are so many, which one is the base game, and which are expantion packs?

Opinion online is not a real game, with that i meant that some people really like some mmorpg while others say its the worst they played

Guild wars only has 1 expension pack: eye of the north
the other 3 are the base games
Prophecies is more oriented towards PvE, so it will take you longer to reach the level cap
Factions is aimed at PvP, you will get to max level fast (my record is 3 hours), but like i said, oriented at pvp. Also, the ritualist and assasin class is available here
Nightfall is a bit of a mix between the 2, also the paragon and dervish class is available here

they usually recommend nightfall because its a bit of both worlds.
i have em all for reference :p all their content is interchangeable till a certain degree (for example, characters from nightfall can travel to the world of factions/prophecies (if they have the games added to their accounts) with all gear and skills
You can purchase the complete pack (all games) for pretty cheap these days (about 20-30€ in gameshops around here)

How is that like Orange?

To be honest I haven't installed GW yet, as I have been playing RuneScape, which is a free multi player game, and it's so addictive right now.
When you finish leveling up your character in one skill, you want to keep playing more and level up again.
There are quests to complete, and just so much to do.
It's really fun and addictive.

Does anyone here play RuneScape?

Thanks Sigma for the great advice... GW it's a great game.
Very Adictive.

Thanks to Moci, Sigma, and who ever else said Guild Wars.
i have been playing GW for a bit now, and it's an awesome game, one of the best i ever played.

MoWMAping... I also agree with you RS is awesome too.
Haven't played in a while, but will defo have to play more of it.

Does anyone know how to make the monks target me only?
i have seen people kill the great destroyer in a matter of seconds, and i can spend one hour in there and not kill him.
any tricks on that too?

Try zombie panic source its a free hl2 mod and its super fun or you could buy gmod for 10 bucks (hl2 mod) and its so fun, so much to do if you go online which has custom gamemodes made by players for players, there are gamemodes like zombie survival, roleplays, sandboxes etc.

Global Agenda is a one time fee. Sadly, You'll have to buy all future expansions. I do think it's better then 'Buy our MMO, Pay us $15 a month, And buy all of the expansion packs' though. And there's no Elves.
