I, Delta1Games2005 (a.k.a Falchion), am posting this recruiting thread in regard of looking to expand our crew and add more concept artists.

Although the referred game, Starcraft II wasn't released yet, we've begun work on it earlier in order to get some head start in which to work in-game upon release.

The referred project, named Duality, is an attempt to release an entirely new universe inside a mod, since we lack the appropriate game engine for it.

As it's a new universe, that means a shitload of work, even for one concept artist, which is why we're recruiting more. The artists we're looking for should have at least some decent photoshop skills.

Here's a WIP sample of our work, called WIP because we have yet to refine the model into a final version:User Posted Image

People willing to make contact please PM and I will open contact. PM's must contain:
- NAME (For Credit purposes)
- USERNAME
- LOCATION
- AGE
- A SAMPLE OF YOUR WORK
- MSN ADDRESS (In order to make contact)

Well, gotta say it's some sort of weird... I mean, Starcraft II wasn't even released and you preparing a mod now?

It's not weird at all my friend! A lot of mods start out this way while awaiting their engine! WarmGun is to name just one! They started with concept art and static mesh development etc. many months before UT3 was released! As the guy said... They are getting a head start! And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that what-so-ever! ;)

Until you realise that none of your assets can be imported into the game for whatever reason, and you've wasted several months.

Lady, please don't ruin optimism. Starcraft II wasn't launched yet, so there's hope.

as long as you have base models there should be a way of converting them to some kind of format that can get ingame.

good luck, and keep going.

Will starcraft II even have mod support from the onset?

If not from the outset, then probably not long after launch.

Bit-tech.net

You'd need mod support very early on to be able to monetize on a system like what the article is talking about.

True, but who knows? Starcraft lasted for ten years despite the release of Warcraft III and it's Worlds. How long may Starcraft II last?
