Hi,

I'm offering my services as a professional composer to any teams developing atmospheric single-player mods for half-life 2 or similar FPS games. I have just finished a MA in film music at the National Film School here in the UK and am trying to gain experience in the video game industry. I compose in a logic based studio but also work with live musicians and have experience conducting and recording with orchestras and chiors.

My webspace is down at the moment so these files are being hosted temporarily- I chose a few from my show-reel that I thought were most relevant- i.e. quite minimalist and atmospheric with a sci-fi feel to them. No fighting/shooting/action music but I could get some online in a week or so when I get my website back.

The music in all 5 files is ©2002 Nicholas Singer and is protected by the Performing Rights Society, so please don't use or distribute them.

Thanks for reading,

Kind of sounds like Metroid Prime!

Are you interested in atmospheric Multiplayer mods? We intend to implement music a bit differently than most MP mods do (ie, not just as a background soundtrack). I've sent you an email, but if you aren't interested in MP then you can just ignore it.

wow... that comes along what i had in mind. a pity you crossed my path a bit early. i've got already somebody who might make music but your styles do differ, like the chapters do. a second style never hurts ^_^.

mind if get in touch with you laters?

btw... Chilled_exploration.mp3 pleases me the best. you've got very good skills there.

sounds awesome! though it is quite simple, well the one I listened to anyway. Better than I can do but I know a few people who have been doing stuff like this for a long while so I dont think my opinion really matters to you and if it does dont take it personally I am a hard person to impress :P

That's great! very bully indeed. I like the second one the most. If you could make something like that exept five to ten times faster it would be great. It would be for a demo movie thing I would be doing for my mod. I need to do that before I can get enough people to join my mod. here is the moddb link: Moddb.com and the website; Solstice-mod.com This is a very large scale project I am dreaming up, and if it goes the way I plan and is as much of a succes as some people say they think it will be it will be very good for your protfolio.

what all do you use to make your music?

I may have a use for you in my mod, not for music, directly, but environmental sounds.

If you're interested in working alongside other musicians, then the David Hunter Series is more than willing to house another musician - we're currently working on a 40 track sound track to complement those titles that currently do not feature an already completed soundtrack - which naturally is a lot of work and would require significant effort to complete properly. Our current musicians haven't really started working yet, so there's plenty of time to jump on the bandwagon :)

You can take a look a the basic overviews of each project on our website, although the ones in question are Dh2 (Crucible of War), Dh3 (Death of a Hero) and Dh4 (The Reactive Principle) - the other projects already have complete, high quality soundtracks.

If you would like samples of our previous audio work, then that's entirely possible for me to give you links to or email them to you, after all, you might not be up to the task of working on the type of soundtrack we're after, even if you were interested in our projects.

Many thanks,

The Ambershee
