Buying Games on the Release Date Thread

How many games have you bought on the release date?

Myself it would only be battlefield vietnam, which I got around 12 that day from Gamestop.

So you guys?

I either buy after or before...

never buy on release day as the prices are too high and there are noother friends around who have tried it yet (so you can avoid loosing money for crap )

HL2/GTA: SA

i bought BFV (i wish i hadent) Doom3 (i wish i hadent) and HL2 on the release date, and maybe some others i cant think of

none i usually get a game at least 6months later

only three, all of which i traded games in for a discount
DooM 3 / Half-Life 2 and FarCry, actually FarCry i paid full price on

I pre-order practically everything that I want - more recently Doom3, Dawn of War and Battle for Middle Earth are all things that have been pre-ordered and are either recieved or soon to be recieved

i usually wait for the prices to go down at least 10 bucks. Then I waltz on over to Wal-Mart, EB Games, or Target, yes, they are all within a sixth-mile from each other. Isn't it grand?

C&C Tiberian Sun, HL2 and Call of Duty.
Tiberian Sun is the only one I regret I bought.

Sonic Adventure 2, Halo 2, Half-Life 2, and Xenosaga. That's about it

Oh, my brother got the Playstation 2 at midnight when it was first shipped as well

I usualy preorder any news games I buy, and then pick them up on release date... :p

I think I got NFS: Underground on the release, but I did not know in advance that it was the release date... just some guy at EB Games told me

I have never gotten a game on release date.

i got half-life 2 years after it was realesed! and didn't even know what it was before that year too

Anyway, yes, my brother who used to live at my house (moved out, obviously) bought most of our games and systems. My brother bought the PS1, PS2, Dreamcast, Xbox, and a bunch of different games (which he took with him). Of course, my parents made up for his absence by buying us another PS2 and helping pay off the Xbox, while me and my brother personally bought the Gamecube.

(Looks through his stuff) We still own an original copy of Final Fantasy 3 for the SNES. Not a whole lot of people do

I had not heard of FF series untill FFVII

I bought Doom 3 (wish I hadn't), HL2 and BFV (wish I hadn't) on release dates or pre-ordered.

I would have got both Call of Duty and CoD:United Offensive on release date but didn't have enough money when they came out, still don't have enough for UO

I have usnited offencive, when you have the cash buy it, you will not be dissapointed.

I've been on a video game purchasing spree lately. I bought GTA:SA on opening day, then for Xbox I got ESPN NBA 2k5, Call of Duty: Finest Hour, Need for Speed Underground 2, and Lord of the Rings: Third Age.

It's been a long time since I bought a PC game, so I don't think I've ever gotten a first-day game.

ahh, is LOTA: 3rd Age good?
