I have a couple modeling programs already, but i want to know which one I should stick with. All modeling programs have significant differences and limitations, so i need to know what i should devote all my practice to. I have blender 3D, and that's where i have most of my experience, but it cant export to MDL, or anything close, i also got XSI mod tool. This is a little better, but i dont have any idea how to use it, i do plan to learn of course. im interested in source modeling. Any help on which one io should use would be greatly apreciated. or if there is another free, or possibly cheap one, any info on that would be nice too.

XSI is your best bet for source. i agree its a little overwhelming at first to look at it but its really not all that hard to use.

just look around on google for tutorial videos and such...

let me tell you one thing about complex modeling programs tho.

Erm... why do you have problems to export to MDL? There are even two exporters for this.
