WTF, sponsored by Origin !? That sucks, they are totally NOT mod friendly with their games. Valve and steam should support this, that's were a big part of the modding support comes from!

About origin, i'm almost completly certain that they are sponsoring this for some better reputation. Since Gmaes like Battlefield 1942 and Command And Conquer generals have mods disabled on the origin version. Next year please ask if valve or another company that has a good reputation with modable games sponsor this. Now origin and EA are just walking away with credit they've never deserved.

I am also most flabbergasted by this choice of sponsorship. Origin and ModDB always were... totally two different ideas and websites.

Still, it is a nice suprise considering how ModDB rarly had such a big sponsor.

It's that time of the year again, when mods and games flood us with lots of updates!! xD

I have to agree with everyone else, it's kinda ironic to have Origin sponsoring this, seeing EA's stance about Mods and so many people complaining they can't install mods on the Origin version of a game.

But I'll just ignore the Origin logo on the awards and everything will be fine. xD

Have to agree with the comments here. Origin/EA being the sponsor is kind of wrong. Pretty much every one of their franchises who have been modable in the past are now closed environments. Some even to a degree where it becomes ridiculous (SimCity anyone?)
Didn't mind Alienware sponsoring in the past, or even Crytek who also support the community and offer an editor/SDK.

Somehow I can't believe you guys couldn't find a more suiting sponsor.

Good luck to all the mods though

Origin will probably have its own "Greenlight" and show some dedication towards indie developers. That is, if they still intend to copy everything Steam does ^^

Maybe that sponsoring means we are becoming popular ^^!

I guess if EA's money is spent on a good thing, like this mod/indie site, then it doesn't really matter where the money came from. But the fact that EA could be getting recognition for doing something "good"... thats a sickening feeling. Like a spider luring a fly into its web...
