We all have waited a long time for this, lets get to work!
Long live ModDB!
Really is a website I could NEVER do without .....long live DB!
I agree with everyone. This site changed my gaming life
Hail the Greatest Mod/Gaming Community On The Webs!
Thanks ModDB!
My body is ready
or not
What's your relationship with Desura these days? As I understand it, Desura now belongs to a different company, and the databases split a while ago, but there still seems to be fairly tight integration, such as the "buy on Desura now" banners.
We still work with the Desura staff, like getting games listed on indiedb a play now button & part of monday night indie. But your right, the database was split we still run the DB-sites.
That explains a lot...
Thanks for the explanation! :D
We still promote Desura but no connection other than that - so those banners might be removed at some point
My daily stop :).
That feedback list is spot on.
And yeah, i don't think i realize how much time i spend on this site.. we need a timer to see how many seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years we're online! :O
nah..
Actually there is such a timer. On your profile, to the right under "Statistics" (you may have to scroll down a little bit).
EDIT: Or.. perhaps not? When I check out your 'time online' it says 1 second... hm.
I believe it's a broken feature :P
Would be great to see those improvements listed. Long live moddb/indiedb!
the mod updates tab with the track system the best thing ever do not change that
" Platform tabs are pointless "
i don't agree with this, because in ONLY follow the pc tab and not any of all the others. It would be difficult for me to follow pc games and mods when they are put together with all the others.
Other then that, LOVE MOddb, am a member for many years and use it dayly!
Many thanks,
Leon
Yup I only use the PC tab and its sub tabs, chucking everything together seems like a bad idea. I with you dude this is going to cause more time wasting and me less want to visit this site less and less.
I have some ideas that I think are great (I even posted one of them on the forums a while ago, but nearly no one saw it. :( ), I'll post them there when I have time/after I write them in a non-confusing way. xD
Hail ModDB! For the love of modding!
Comment notification! that has been a long time coming, but would be awesome! MODDB 4 LIFE
Looking forward to the updates!! Happy Birthday!
Long live ModDB! forever
well, i was satisfied with moddb all the time since I joined so I even dont need any updates or upgrades, its still good, if you think you can do better then ok I wanna see it.
12 years, man I just realise I've been hanging here for 11 of those 12... lol!
Congrats everyone!
Glad everyone likes the site so much. First feature i'm working on right now is doubling the size of images / files able to be uploaded so we can basically host anything. And supporting animated GIFs for the first time ever. Hopefully those changes are not too far off!
For me, a working comment system with notifications is the most critically needed improvement.
I already like IndieDB a lot, but it could be even better!
Long live DesuraNET!
As for broken features. For starters, there is the glitched icons at the annual Desura awards (IOTY, MOTY, AOTY) that has yet to be fixed. I've actually already spoken to Henley about that almost 3 years ago.
"sites" is possessive and should have an apostrophe
"allot" isn't a word, I assume you mean "a lot"
Please, run a spellcheck in your news posts, it's embarrassing to be able to casually spot multiple typos/grammatical errors in every official release.
Fixing the popularity system so that it isn't solely based off a view counter would be a good place to start.
ModDB has been my favourite site since 2004 and probably a little before. Glad the staff are looking at ways to keep it fresh and relevant.
Nested comments do break, but you already know that. The disconnection of desura.com and moddb.com is a real pain maintenance wise when doing releases and announcements, even adding new members to organisations.
Moddb is the best! No matter how many years pass, I always keep coming back. Heres to hoping for 12 more years!
IndieDB is my favorite page!!! \(*-*)/
awesome post!
LONG LIVE MODDB And INDIEDB :D
Said it before, but Moddb's still my favorite site on the net. Always either my first or second stop online, and one of the last places I check again before bed.
The only big feature I wish the site had was better comment notifications, like say, get a notification when someone comments on media/mods/groups/blogs/etc that you've posted. Or perhaps a way to track/subscribe to certain pages even to comments, I don't know.
Anyway, keep on rockin', and may this site never die :)
I hope to see IndieDB & ModDB live long! :) Creating help and a place for developers and mod/indie supporters alike.
